Sell Zeke and build for the future, or try to compete?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

After seeing the offers here I can see why I don’t own zeke anywhere, but would def look to trade him. Just ran zeke for Conner Moore engram on trade calc which isn’t everything, but gives good ballpark est. zeke worth 897 the package is worth 1321 without the 2020 1st lol so if you can get that do it

i think i would try to ask for some type of combination of these assets, Juju or Mixon, Engram or DJ Moore and 2020 1st. I would then start my rebuild around those assets and Evans and pretty much sell off everything else.

Michael Thomas str8 would work for me or Juju plus... but I don't think you are getting Mixon as well. If he wants Zeke he would need to pay up otherwise he doesn't want Zeke enough.

I’m not vindictive or anything, people can do as they will in a hobby. But if I’m shopping zeke and any single player is “off the board”? I’m looking for another trade partner. Not mad, just not interested.

Unless they blow me away with something like Connor DJ Moore Engram 2020 1st, I guess.

What happened to your 2019 picks and your 2020 1st round?

if you're selling him to rebuild, I'd ask for moore/engram and the two 2020 1sts. these are ancillary pieces and it should be a no brainer for him while hauling in nice value for you, I'd try to sell freeman after the season starts and he has a good game or two for a 2020 1st+, look to sell the TCole/Mckinnon package NOW for futures as well, this would put you in a good spot to build out for 2021.

My Roster (notable players)
QB: Cousins, Winston
RB: Zeke, Devonta Freeman, PLindsay, TColeman, McKinnon (other less noteworthy players)
WR: Evans, Woods, Tate, Crowder, Humphries, Baldwin (other less noteworthy players)
TE: Doyle, ASJ
Picks: 2020 2nd, 4th
It's a good team, but too many guys need to hit the top ends of their range of potentials to compete in a 12-teamer. I agree with the folks saying that you hold Zeke unless you get blown away. Flipping him for Michael Thomas is probably good value, but it doesn't move you any closer in a rebuild because all of your less valuable pieces stay put. So, two thoughts.

(1) IF you are going to sell Zeke, tell the whole league that he's on the block. If the Bell/Connor owner has actually made an offer, I think it's fair game to tell the league what sort of parameters are needed to get talks going. Something like "I already have an offer on the table of a top 10 back plus sweeteners". See who comes in strong. If no one does, then hold tight.

(2) Which pieces on your roster currently have significant value that is likely to have disappeared (or at least massively reduced) by the time you're ready to compete? Freeman jumps out, but I'd also move whichever of Lindsay/Coleman/McKinnon you can get good value for. Lindsay, in particular, is a guy that I would cash out on -- if you can find someone who sees him as a top 15 RB then you move him now to lock in that value. I can make the case for moving Woods, too -- at age 27, I think he's hit his ceiling as a safe WR2. Tate and Crowder are obvious sells, but most teams are going to shy away because they're no longer flashy names. And finally, if QBs hold any value at all in your league, try to move on. The Winston love is going to ramp up with Arians. Sell for a lower tier QB and a future pick. Or try to move Cousins for a lower tier young QB (Allen, Haskins, Mariota, Rosen, etc) who could improve plus some small piece.

In short, the only way I'd be moving Zeke or Evans is if I can get a big overpay, or if they're part of a blockbuster that helps you move on from guys who risk becoming roster cloggers by the time you're ready to compete.

2019 draft already occurred. Last season I made a push for the championship and sold two 2019 1sts for Cousins, Freeman, Coleman and Tate. Then I sold off my 2020 1st and TY (and some other smaller pieces) for Evans. Looked like good value at the time, and I dont think it was a bad decision. But all those assets have depreciated since then, so it is what it is i guess.

Good advice. Thanks for the well thought out response. Ive reached out to a few other owners individually, who are all interested, but Ill also open it up to the entire league. See what I can get.

I'm in this league and just from knowing the league my honest advice would be to only move Zeke if the offer is too sweet to pass up. There are some really good teams in the league (some guy just won back to back championships) but you are absolutely a playoff team due to the weaker bottom end. You have some star power and decent enough depth. You will make the playoffs barring some unfortunate luck and once your in you never know whats going to happen. I just can't see looking to rebuild a team that is capable of making a playoff run.
