Hamilton vs J Samuels

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Hamilton vs J Samuels

Postby zoster80 » Fri May 17, 2019 7:32 pm

I got an offer of D Hamilton for J Samuels, who do you like? Since it’s with my PLP rebuild I’m think long term.

Hamilton has a greater degree of certainty for now and the future.

While I like Hamilton as a player and he projects well as a slot WR with good route running skills and hands, it's hard to deny that Samuels is 2 years younger, has a significantly better athletic profile and has more draft pedigree, 2nd rounder vs 4th rounder. Also no matter how you might feel about Cam Newton he is a much better option at QB at this point than either Flacco or Lock. Samuels also had 7 TDS last season and almost 600 total yards and is a threat all over the field. I think I would take the chance on Samuels upside but I also like to swing for the fences in situations like this.

I’m sorry, I was talking about J Samuels, the backup RB For the Steelers.

Thank you for the insight though.

Hamilton by a bit. He will play an important role for the Broncos. Samuels although talented, needs a Connor injury to be a factor and his spot could be threatened by Snell.

Hamilton>>>Samuels. He's going to be a mid-to-low end WR2 or high end WR3 I feel in the near future. Unless you own Conner, it's easily Hamilton for me.

So originally he said it was a straight up deal now he wants me to add a 2020 3rd which will probably be early. That’s a little much to add? I’m in a rebuild and while I have two 2020 1sts I don’t have a 2nd so I’m trying to conserve my future picks...Am I buying low enough Hamilton that the 3rd is worth it to close deal.

I would not add a pick if I was in a rebuild.

Id take Hamilton but that being said, Samuels I have in just about every dynasty because I see great potential there, just a matter of time.
