I usually don’t get upset when I get a bad offer, but we have one owner who continues to send out awful offers. He pushed my buttons on this offer, he somehow thinks it’s fair. I ended up writing him a rude email about his offer, I feel kinda of bad now though, the more I thought about it, I should have just rejected it. Here is the offer:

He gives: Fournette
I give: Joe Mixon and A.J. Brown

This is why this thread is amazing. I'm pretty sure there are many Tyreek Hill owners now, after the tape, that would be pretty darn content getting Corey Davis and something on top for a dude who may never play again.

Edit: yes I'm aware Ross said this in January. Just shows how quickly times can change and how something laughable just months ago really isn't.

#1. Can't believe informed owners are sending offers out like that at this point in time and #2. I honestly can't believe offers like that are turned down.

Yeah I thought it was a mistake at first...like he meant to add a piece to his side or it was supposed to be one of Watkins OR 1.10. Nope. And before anyone asks, no...Josh Jacobs did not fall to 1.09.

Like maybe a quarter of these offers posted are legitimately bad. MAYBE. The rest are opening offers, I think some of you need to learn how to negotiate. Or get thicker skin.

Agreed, but people need to learn how to make better opening offers. When I get an offer that’s not close, I don’t bother countering. Starting with a fair offer gives you a much better chance of making a trade.

Is a good way to become even more annoyed. There are many reasons why a trade looks good, bad, and about even to different people. The only way to find out what valuation standard an owner has is to engage in trade discussions. If you respond why you aren't making Trade A (that you consider bad) you either get an offer that more fits what you're willing to make or you stop getting offers because the other owner realizes you're too far part.

I definitely agree with telling other owners their offer is bad. Can definitely help you get good/better offers. However, the two results you list here aren't the only possibilities. An owner in one league throws out a ton of offers throughout the year. Most are easy passes, though only a percentage are truly horrible. I don't take as much time as I used to in explaining why I rejected. Even when I did the repeatedly, the bad/easy-pass offers continued like an avalanche. I got an offer recently from him but he revoked. Told him I would have rejected and he said no, I would have accepted.

Two owners in that league won't discuss trade possibilities. I've learned to just reject/accept whatever offers they sent and move on. Burning bridges just turns off the spigot and you never know what trades they'd make you'd actually accept.
