Favorite RBs outside Big 3 (post-draft)

Postby Prison_Mike » Sun Apr 28, 2019 10:30 am

Now that we have landing spots:

Who are your favorite rookie RBs outside of what appears to be the consensus top 3
(Jacobs, Sanders, Monty)

Which guys do you think will carve out significant roles early on?

Justice Hill?
Devin Singletary?
Damien Harris?
Tony Pollard?
Armstead?
Bengals RBs?
Jalen Hurd? - 49ers RB7

My deep hopeful (UDFA) - Bruce Anderson?

Who do you guys like in the 2nd/3rd round?

Hurd is a WR now.

Personally I like Harris the most as a player and Singletary the best situationally. I would put those two guys ahead of the rest. Probably Hill next on the chance that he can impress over these next couple years enough to earn a large role when Ingram ages out.

There is a good chance Shady gets traded, or at least those are the rumblings. He was a shell of himself last year anyways. And, there is a petition because he, gasp, posted Avengers spoiler. Oh em geee. Singletary is a sneaky play, even with his deficiencies he was a very solid back.

lol I know, I was just being facetious and making reference to Shanny’s affinity for RBs

Agree with you and our resident RB guru (dlf_mikeh) that it’s gotta be Singletary. But Hill has me intrigued as well

The OP seems to be asking different questions, so I'll restrict myself to the RBs I like after the 3 mentioned. These aren't necessarily the next RBs I like after those three, and I don't necessarily think they'll get significant touches this year.
Singletary
Armstead
Henderson
League #1- 14 tm ppr, 1Q, 2R, 3W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1K

League #2- 12 team PPR, 1Q, 1R, 2W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1 W/R/T, 1 Def

League #3- 12 tm PPR, 1Q, 0R (yes, ZERO RB) 3W, 1T, 2 R/W/T flex, 1 Def

Sorry could have been worded better lol
Basically who do you like the most (excluding the top 3) from a short term & long term standpoint

And therefore, who should we be looking at in the 2nd/3rd rounds since that’s where the majority of these players will likely be drafted

Singletary will be the RB4 in pretty much every rookie draft, so I’ll say - after him - I think I like Justice Hill. He brings something to the Ravens RB corps that no one else has. Absolute electric game-breaking ability. He’s no perfect prospect, but he’s skilled. I could see him getting to 800-1000 yards his rookie year (maybe 140 rushes for 625 yards, and 20+ catches for another couple hundred yards).

Singletary- RB4
Henderson- A top handcuff, and should carve out 5-10 touches a game..LAR will be scaling back Gurleys workload.
Justice Hill i like as the RB5/RB6 in this class but has less upside.
Mattison, Pollard and Snell should also be top end handcuffs
Im going to stay away from Damien Harris unless he's there at the end of round 3
Love, and Tray Williams are my high upside you can get for cheap

Just not really on board with the Big 3 comment. I have a hard time putting Sanders into a Big 2 with Jacobs, let one additional DMonty to them. I get he is likely to be the 3rd RB off the board, but that's as far as I can go in linking them.

Henderson for me. Hes a high upside handcuff. If Gurley gets hurt his value will skyrocket.

Sure, that’s not to say that they’re equal prospects

I really only lumped them together because I don’t see any of them escaping the 1st round. I think the 3 of them are projected as 1st round locks in MOST rookie drafts. Whereas the rest of the RBs (the ones being discussed here) would probably be considered a significant reach if taken in the 1st round, especially given the talent at WR & TE

Singletary
Hill
Armstead (I think Coughlin is tired of Leos bleep)
Mattison
Williams
Barnes

That being said, I will try to get rid of as much of this class as I can after 1.02. This feels like a roster clogging class that you just keep waiting to break out.

I don't think there's a Big 3.

Right now, I'd say the top 5 RB's are:

Jacobs
Henderson
Montgomery
Sanders
Harris

Some of the landing spots aren't good, but that's what I'd roll with. Henderson is interesting to watch for. He has a very similar profile to Maurice Jones-Drew and has the best combination of profile, production and speed. I get he's behind Gurley, but I wouldn't bump him down too far.
