Never was 1-01 but his landing spot could not have been much better..1-03 for sure.. I dare say even getting drafted back end of round two I like his home as good or better than Harry....

I like the landing spot . . . I also know I won't be owning him anywhere based on where I have him ranked, lol

It is too bad Wilson will not have the time to use the field stretchers..

I agree the winner is Lockett. Let DK run a straight line and Lockett who can run routes will take all the intermediate stuff.

Of course, if it is still run run pass every time it is still irrelevant.

Yep. It's worth noting again that Brian Schottenheimer notoriously runs a low volume passing attack. Seahawks were last in passing attempts last season. In 10 seasons as an OC in the NFL, he's only coached an offense that passed above the league average once.

Seahawks are probably going to continue running a lot with Carson and Penny.

Take the RB Jacobs. Better value. These WR's are going to take some time and you might get one later in the draft.

Very Happy with DK's landing spot.

This helps Wilson, Lockett, and for sure DK. Looks Like Baldwin is done so DK should play early and will most likely be a starter week 1. Wilson has to be fired up with this selection given it plays right into his strength.

LOL. looking back at this thread made me chuckle and now its doing it again.
You really going to say Dk is a top 4 WR in rookie drafts? He almost made it to the 3rd friggin round of the nfl draft. How many articles and analysis have we all seen where draft position matters, especially at WR? Your telling me him going at WR9 isn't something to make ya go huh maybe he's not as good of an all around WR and in turn fantasy player as I thought.

There are owners who have Guice ahead of the 1.01 in this draft and his Draft price in last years draft was similar to Metcalfs (2.59 vs. 2.64). Some owners are not going to worry too much about draft pedigree as long as it is in a reasonable area. Round II is a lot different than Round V for example.

Cameron Giles wrote: Sat Apr 27, 2019 5:43 am Yeah, this is awesome for Lockett, but I don't think he's best suited as a possession WR.
It's what he was for K-State. Every-level receiver for them. 187 receptions in two seasons.

To be clear, I'm not suggesting Lockett would cease to be used vertically by Seattle in a post-Baldwin scenario, just that a lot more of his vertical routes would be going up the seam rather than outside the hashmarks. Watching him destroy Chris Harris's coverage on a seam route TD last year Week 1 (Baldwin was sidelined) has me licking my chops at the thought. I think Lockett profiles as more dangerous vertically from the slot than from outside.

Anyway, I digress. This thread is about DK "Takes off shirt, steals yo girl" Metcalf.

WR4 in this class is exactly where I have Metcalf on my board post NFL draft, actually. For now.

Bottom line, he was a Day 2, 2nd round pick. People who cluck over position selection order are new to dynasty, because that almost never matters. Day of selection matters, followed by whether or not a selection was traded up for. Narrowing focus beyond that is rarely revelatory in years later hindsight, except as a means of criticizing NFL teams' draft performance because they inevitably get the order of selection wrong every year.

Metcalf isn't going to be a threat for 80 receptions anytime soon, but his new QB is one of the league's very best deep throwers. Hand, meet glove. This, and this class's overall weakness for fantasy, is why I have him WR4 for the moment.

It's not like people are comparing him to a bunch of top 10 selections. All of these WRs went in round 2.

FWIW, here's where the best WR of each of the last few drafts came from.

2017: WR5, #62 overall (JJSS)
2016: WR6, #47 overall (MT)
2015: WR20, #146 overall (Diggs)
2014: WR3, #12 overall (OBJ, though Adams is right behind and was WR9)

There has actually been at least one fantasy WR1 to come out of the second round in 5 of the last 6 drafts, something that can't even be said about the 1st round.
