Under the radar players

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Under the radar players

Postby Pete Carroll's Gum » Wed Apr 03, 2019 2:15 pm

I'm looking through the FAs in my league, trying to find players with potential. These are the ones that spark my interest.

Demarcus Robinson, WR, KC: With Conely gone, the #3 (could be #2 depending on Tyreek Hill situation) WR spot is up for grabs and Mahomes + Rob have had chemistry in the past.

Justin Watson, WR, TB: Freak athlete, Godwin potentially moving outside opens up the slot for Watson.

Dylan Cantrell, WR, LAC: His RAS (relative athletic score) was 30th among wide receivers dating all the way back to 1987. With Tyrell gone, the 3rd WR spot is up for grabs.

Ryan Switzer, WR, PITT: If they move JuJu to the outside, the slot position could go to Switzer.

Darrell Williams, RB, KC: Was more high on him before they got Hyde. But could be worth a flier since he is on a top offense?

Malcom Brown, RB, LAR: Backup to Gurley, who is having knee issues. Should get more touches this year and could start if Gurely is injured.

Jacob Hollister, TE, NE: Next man up on the depth chart after Gronk retiring. They could draft another TE, though.

Braxton Berrios, WR, NE: Fits the slot receiver NE role. Edelman is getting older. Could be a year or two away, though (unless injury).

Thoughts on these guys? Any other that should be added?

Out of this list, I would take a flyer on Malcom Brown and Robinson (I would not expect much). Brown looked solid at times last year when given a shot, and we will see what happens in KC.

Justin Watson is the only one I'm sort of interested in and would pay a 3rd for. I've been intrigued by Dylan Cantrell, but even so he's just worth adding to the watch list for the time being, not actually rostering. The rest are meh.

Should I take Watson with the 2.08? Or try and wait for the 3.08?

I don't think he's worth a 2nd with Evans, Godwin, Howard, and Brate there stealing targets. I'd wait and hope he drops to 3.08.

I feel like I would rather take a flier on a 2nd year WR (Watson) with high metrics, rather than a rookie WR who may hit or not.

his QB is still winston though. and the fitz is gone, replaced by gabbert. oh and their line sucks arse.
sure all of those things may change, but the near future looks pretty bleak.
