Yeah I got bad news about that. I spent several hours doing write ups for the names mentioned. My wife borrowed my laptop and accidentally spilled the rose vase with its water over the top of it and fried it yesterday morning. It felt like I was mourning a family member all day yesterday. My poor wife.... she was sick to her stomach.

Anyway my write ups are on that drive. Long story short, there's nobody that I thought would be a stud in that list, but the names I separated in a previous post are the ones I thought stood a better chance at being worth more value someday and then you could flip them for a profit.
Oof. Sorry to hear, man. Not trying to be snarky, since I know it doesn’t help much at this point, but I’d highly recommend Google docs or some other form of cloud-based document storage moving forward.

MEuRaH, awesome post man!

Appreciate the detail and appreciate you putting yourself out there. I have had some good luck recently with RBs, but mainly by comparing different sources I trust before making my final decision. I will definitely add this/you to the list!

Yeah I usually use googledocs but I have a specific format that I use to do these things and it's already configured in excel. Plus, how often does my laptop die from flower water?

Anyway I was able to revive the laptop so I got my files back. I updated the thread as a result.

To anyone reading this, keep in mind: I do my round 1 rankings PRE combine so I'm not influenced by the stats that occur. I edited the first post but I didn't move anybody around. Holyfield, for example, will probably drop to the group down under when I do round 2. Sanders looks like the RB to own, hands down. It's not even close.

I’m reeeaaally hoping Sanders gets to me at 1.05, but what once felt like a good bet seems a little less likely every day.

Still that high on holyfield after his abysmal combine?

MEuRaH wrote: Tue Feb 26, 2019 8:18 pm LJ Scott (added 3/2) - This might be one of the more intriguing players in the bunch. He lowers his hips very well (hard to find) and has some nifty moves in space. He also follows his blocks very well. I absolutely loved what I saw out of this guy..... HOWEVER...... he had poor vision. Several times in the zone blocking schemes he either wasn't patient enough, or didn't see the interior hole, or exterior lanes, etc. He needs to be coached up in a big way. I wouldn't expect him to be a starter in 2019. He NEEDS to go to a good situation, or he'll fade in irrelevancy.
Thought exercise as someone who has never played/coached this sport - How did a 2 star athlete like Bell spend 3 years with the same coaches at Michigan State and turn into a stud while LJ, an extremely coveted high school recruit, did the opposite seemingly peaking as a freshman in the B10 championship? Are coaches not that important at the RB position in college? Sorry if I am being naive!

Any chance you have looked into or will be taking a look at Devine Ozigbo?

It really depends on the player. A player can succeed through both talent & skill. Talent is something a player is born with, you either have it or you don't (speed, agility, etc) You can improve on it, but it's hard to build up over time. Skill, on the other hand, is something that is created through coaching. Vision, memorization of player positions on the field for every play, reading a defense pre-snap, etc. Skill is mostly improved through the classroom and good coaching, as long as the player is willing to be taught. The better the student, the better the skill. Players coming out of high school can excel through either method, or a combination of both. It's almost impossible to tell until you have the player and work with him for several weeks or months.

A good example is Michael Vick. He was a supremely talented athlete, but not a skillful one. He relied 100% on his talent alone, and therefore didn't thrive as well as he could have. Jerry Rice, while somewhat talented, was very skilled. He worked harder than anyone, honing in his craft and working to be the best in all areas.

I've coached both kinds. With skilled players, I can get a little deeper in my coaching and get them to be more diverse. Talented players who do not care to learn are hard to teach such things, so you tell them "run fast" or "stand here" and keep it simple and allow their talent to do all the work.

lol. Maybe it'll reach the front office of some team and it'll help convince a GM to draft him sooner.
