Your whole starting lineup can't be studs. You need to find cheap production somewhere. This is exactly the type of player I look for to take that chance on.... a good player in a terrible situation for production that you can get cheap.
I agree with this a ton, but
xlur8ed wrote: Tue Feb 19, 2019 9:00 am Fair question and solid forward thinking... I'd simply always recommend you evaluate talent level of 'next man up' when a stud is departing. So often people think 'XYZ goes down and ABC is going to output XYZs production', when that is never realistic. Sterling Shepard isn't an alpha WR1, he isn't OBJ, and he is soon going to be stuck with a rookie QB that may or may not favor him. For all of those reasons, I personally have no interest in Shepard, but agree a early/mid 2R should get it done.
And for those reasons, I’m out. Shark tank.

I agree with this pretty much. Was never real high on him. I think next man up idea if OBJ leaves is Engram anyways.

Honcho, that's a cool league that you have in your sig block. Curious, is it really so that you can only have a Bench of 3? That seems very short? Everything else looks cool. Love the -4 Ints, even though it's not a Superflex.

Rosters are 13 active, 2 IR, 3 taxi in season. Cut to 10 offseason and do a 10 round rookie/FA draft right around the HoF game, then cut down to the 13/2/3 back into the regular season. I typically like deeper but it is 14 man

Shepard's dominance out of the slot and with contested catches make me strongly believe that he would thrive in a more featured role. He's also solid on the outside. If I can get him for a second I'll end up owning him everywhere.

I don't think he'd be a big winner post Beckham trade. Barkley would get absurd usage and Engram would get a big uptick. I imagine they'd bring someone else in and Shepard would do more of the same, with a slight bump.

it says he will be week to week. does this mean he is a threat to miss significant time? looking at the depth chart nobody stands out as worth adding but i imagine Corey Coleman is the next man up

This would be the perfect time for Darius Slayton to show what hes got after an impressive mini camp. However, I hear hes out with a hammy issue. Sigh...

Yeah it sounds minor, but not ideal when he is likely in a competition in camp between the other main options for Eli and D Jones’ primary attention.

It’s a situation where Shepard could alpha his way to the top of the target list there and get 140 or he could completely falter and be 4th behind Tate, Engram, and Saquon back in the 100 targets or below range that he has been at during his first 3 sorta disappointing seasons.

This is a big chance for him to point his career in one direction or another this year, hope he heals quickly and gets peppered with targets.

Sounds like it is a fracture - with a little luck he will be good to go for Week I. Doubt he would have played that much during the pre-season - unless they decide upon Jones as the starter & wanted to get them reps together?
