superflex startup, 1.01 trade?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

superflex startup, 1.01 trade?

Postby blackburn72419 » Tue Feb 05, 2019 1:46 pm

14 team superflex startup - TE premium, .25ppc, 5 pt passing TD, standard PPR for WR

was lucky enough to draw the 1.01... If I were to move out of this pick for a package what should I be looking for in return... it seems this pick is a pretty easy Mahomes for most people at this point.

QB: Brady, Wilson, Taylor, Osweiller, Gabbert, chad Kelly
WR: AJ Green, Baldwin, Landry, Jordy, Marquise Goodwin, smokey, Fowler, Latimer, seth roberts, trent taylor, deonte thompson, Brice Butler, Kamar Aiken, Leonte Carroo
RB: Mixon, CJA, Gore, Breida, Demarco, Perine, Rawls, Terrance West, Juszczyk, Dunbar, buck allen
TE: Engram, Fleener, Kittle, Virgil

League 3: PPR, TE premium, .25 PPC
QB: Jameis, Tyrod, Trubisky
WR: Nuke, Keenan, Diggs, parker, hogan, smokey, white, wallace, carroo, albert wilson
RB: Dalvin Cook, Mark Ingram, Spencer Ware, Kenneth Dixon, Elijah Mcguire

Most years I'd say move the pick and try to move down, but Mahomes is so much ahead of anyone else in terms of value in a SF that I'd just keep the pick and take him. He's even more valuable in a 14 team league.

While Mahomes is the easy pick, I can't think of a reason not to listen to offers. You have the proverbial golden ticket: you draft Mahomes and smile, or you trade for a ridiculous windfall. See that windfall might bring.

For comparison, think of what 1.01 was worth last year with Barkley. Some of the packages being offered for it were insane -- and some even too good to pass up. 1.01 in a start-up SF/2QB league is the exact same right now with Mahomes.

Quick question do rbs also get ppr or is it just wrs and tes?
IF rbs also get ppr I'd look at trading for the 1.2 and see what you can get for it and draft Barkley. If rbs just get the ppc and no ppr then yeah stay 1.1 and go mahomes unless someone blows you out of the water with an offer.

Can you do something along the lines of 1.01 + 3.01 + 4.14 for the 1.03 + 2.12 + 3.03? That way you can still grab one of Luck or Wilson at 1.03, but you get another 2nd round startup player.

WR: Tyreek Hill, Mike Evans, Cooper Kupp, Michael Gallup, Christian Kirk
TE: George Kittle, Travis Kelce | K: Younghoe Koo | DST: SF
PS: Mecole Hardman, Tony Pollard | 2020 Picks: 1.09, 2.10, 3.03 | 2021 Picks: 1st, 2nd

I was playing around with a few of these scenarios myself, and that "windfall" trade may be hard to come by in a startup. To realize the value of Mahomes in a SF, you would need their 1st and 2nd no doubt, then 2 or 3 substantial pick bumps in the first 70-80 picks. If you could get someone to do that, then maybe. Otherwise, I agree I'd happily take Mahomes and patiently wait for the 2-3 turn.
After the draft, when you're dealing players instead of picks, you might be able to swing a trade for a QB + + for Mahomes. That might be a safer path for you since you will be working with names not numbers.

Barkley easy for me. But I get mohommes too In 14 team. But I play in multiple per carry leagues and you simply can’t buy barkley for anything. Why not get the best rb ever in that format and enjoy.
TEAM 1: 12 man PPR (.25 passing and rushing attempt) dynasty league
QB:Josh Allen, Matt Ryan, Zach Wilson
RB: Saquon Barkley, Jonathan Taylor, JK Dobbins, Najee Harris, Joe Mixon, Deandre Swift
WR: Tyreek Hill, Justin Jefferson, Deandre Hopkins, Chris Godwin, Jamaar Chase, Allen Robinson, Rashod Bateman
TE: Kyle Pitts, Hunter Henry

TEAM 2: 10 MAN Superflex. (standard PPR).
QB: Mahomes, Wilson, Stafford, Wentz, Jimmy G
RB: Mccaffrey, Zeke, Javonte, Akers, Jacobs, Edmonds, Henderson, Fournette, Pollard
WR: Adams, Michael Thomas, Keenan Allen, Aiyuk, Odell Beckham, Devonta Smith Julio,Shenault
TE: Travis Kelce, George Kittle

TEAM 3:10 MAN PPR (2 QUARTERBACK LEAGUE took over orphan 2016) Dynasty League
QB: Dak, Lamar, Tua, Winston, Bridgewater,
RB: Mccaffrey, Henry, Aaron Jones, Chubb, Mike Davis
WR: Aj Brown, Terry Mclaurin, Theilen, Godwin, Juedy, Sutton, Watkins, Davis, Crowder

I'd take Barkley and then 2 QBs on the 2.14/3.01 turn personally. If you end up with two of Ryan, Stafford, Cousins and maybe even Goff with a little recency bias going on wouldn't you be thrilled?

Nope. But, I would be thrilled to have Mahomes and one of Conner/KJ/Guice/Cook and one of Mayfield/Wentz/Newton (if you're set on 2QB and 1RB with your first three picks).

14 team super says there is no pick but Mahomes if you don’t deal it. The price to get that pick from you should be enormous or forget about it.
