Sony Michel Thread
Re: Sony Michel 2019 value
In other words what I am trying to say is that there is likely a gap in the market, even beyond the usual buy vs. sell gap, where players like Michel, depending on their initial draft cost, may not look like their value has increased.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

Re: Sony Michel 2019 value
That's fair, but I guess my point is that evaluating the change in somebody's ADP within their own draft class is looking at a needlessly small sample size, and comparing one draft class to another is the same thing. You won't be able to get Michel for the 1.04 in this class because this draft class is widely expected to be worse than last year's.
Another even better example is Courtland Sutton. His April-December rookie ADP split was 1.05 to now 1.08, but he's gone from 57th in ADP to 44th.
For what it's worth, I don't expect this year's group to have as lofty of a startup ADP as your typical class.

Re: Sony Michel 2019 value
I just wouldn't want him (especially now with his value/price soaring) for the same reason as White - you never know when the Pats are going to throw out the game plan and run out 4 backs or fullbacks/wideouts at RB or whatever madness they come up with.
Owners who had White this year were pretty happy... until fantasy playoff time. Even Michel owners had a bit of roller coaster ride this year. No thanks, Pats backfield - but to each their own!

Re: Sony Michel 2019 value
I'm staying away from the Pats backfield altogether. I have been down that path before. You think you have the bell cow but trying to figure out when he is going to hit and not get sniped by the other 3 running backs no thanks. I'll pass.

Re: Sony Michel 2019 value
In two of my leagues, Michel went 1.2 and 1.4. Don't expect I can get him there.
I don't know your starting requirements for your sig team, but how does Corey Davis compare to Michel, to you?osubuckeyeman wrote: ↑Tue Jan 29, 2019 7:17 pm I'm staying away from the Pats backfield altogether. Also related: Would you take Sony Michel or Darrius Guice? I would assume due to injury and a year under his belt that Michel would fetch Guice+ some.
Personally I'm thinking of trading Michel for Guice, as I don't really believe Michel will start catching passes (/split time) and Guice will have a larger share in the Redskins Backfield. AP's success this year showed me Guice could flirt with low end RB1 numbers.
I always keep an eye out for buy low injury guys and Guice fits the bill. If I can offload a guy who was semi injured this year, in a timeshare, with long term knee health and get more than a player for player I think its worth a look.

Re: Sony Michel 2019 value
A bit ironic you consider Michel the injury risk yet Guice was on IR all year. I would not be trading Sony away anytime soon. As his Pass Pro skills improve he will get more receiving opportunities. He went round 1 for a reason to the Pats.cookiecrisp13 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 30, 2019 10:34 am Also related: Would you take Sony Michel or Darrius Guice? 7 of his 13 regular season games were 18 or more touches His two playoff games were 25 and 29 touches.
All arrows are pointing up for this player.

All these mentions of Michel's knees makes me think of Ajayi.

Re: Sony Michel 2019 value
I think he's a sell high. The situation irks me the wrong way, but he's a good player. I'm not going to sell without a RB in return though, in my case. I guess I can try and package up or even go straight across for other guys.
Re: Sony Michel 2019 value
Is it annoying when a guy like Burkhead or even worse, James Develin, vultures a TD because only the Pats do stuff like that? Yes its very annoying. However I have not seen an RB with this kind of talent on the Pats in a long time. He makes 5 yard gains look easy. Guy is a really good player and as Brady ages (brady does age right?) he will become even more important. Keep him unless you get a haul.
Re: Sony Michel 2019 value
A haul for him id consider a mid to high first and a good player.
Re: Sony Michel 2019 value
I'm likely going to try and go the other way and package someone like Davis or Moore with him to get a better RB. Sony has the talent, no doubt, so I won't sell unless the price is rightWeknownothing86 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 30, 2019 2:12 pm A haul for him id consider a mid to high first and a good player.
Re: Sony Michel 2019 value
My league is impossible to trade for RBs in. Moore and Michel wouldn't even come close to getting me a guy like Melvin Gordon Or a "buy low" David Johnson so im much happier keeping Michel instead of getting ramrodded but I see your point and do it if you can.Jigga94 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 30, 2019 2:31 pmI'm likely going to try and go the other way and package someone like Davis or Moore with him to get a better RB. Re: Sony Michel 2019 value
But if I could I would def try to trade up for a guy like Melvin Gordon. Guy like Mixon id have to throw something in too but not too much more in my opinion. Others would disagree based solely on the fact Mixon is involved a lot more in the passing game.
