Rashaad Penny, buy low?

Penny went at pick 14 in our rookie draft and none of us thought he would be a top pick. That is a 2nd rounder in most leagues and before he looked like a turd. I would trade a late 2nd for him (in a 16 team), but I want nothing to do with him.

Im blown away by some of these comments. As stated earlier look at melvin gordon rookie year. Its half a season lets give him a break. Name 12 guys in the coming draft to take above him. Pretty tough.

Gordon's case has nothing to do with Penny's.
Gordon didn't score and fumbled for breakfast, but he got about 200 carries in his rookie season.

He had a terrible ave ypc at 3.5 and got 185 carries as there was nobody else to carry the ball besides i believe Danny woodhead. Add in a capable runner like carson and his season could have looked a lot like pennys.

I'm not a fan but that may be worth the flier...who else would you target with better chances in 2019 draft class at that pick?

That said, there must be a reason they arent playing him despite the many opportunities to do so...

Worst case...you spent a 2nd round pick and it didn't work out for you. I would not consider selling my share of Penny for a second.

I believe the whole point of his argument is the fact that Gordon was a high rookie pick that looked like a bust after year one especially considering he got plenty of opportunity and yet here we are and Gordon is a top 10 RB 3 years in a row.

I really liked what I saw in penny coming out of college and I did draft him at 1.07 in my league over Kerryon and Chubb. Obviously I'd take Kerryon or Chubb over Penny without a second thought if I had the choice today but the fact is you are not going to get a Rb that was drafted in the 1st round of the NFL in the 2nd right of a rookie fantasy draft, it just won't ever happen. Penny could very well bust but the draft pedigree alone makes him still worth a 1st round rookie pick as of right now. The jury is still out if he's a bust. I've been anti RoJo the second I started delving into his tape and probably would've drafted the top Wr's and all the other top Rb's over him if I had a choice. With that being said I'd gladly take the risk on RoJo for a 2nd.

I get that, but that's where the comparisons end.
I know I'm being a pedantic asshole, but their respective rookie seasons have been very different, and provide different concerns going forward.
