Should I make this move for Gurley?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Should I make this move for Gurley?

Postby fantasyhermit » Fri Oct 19, 2018 4:48 pm

Howdy all. I've been in talks this week with the Gurley owner to send Hyde, Mixon, and a 2019 1st (mid-late) and get Gurley. His only concern was Hyde possibly losing his job to Chubb this season. Today's trade involving Hyde may torpedo that deal. If/when he rejects that offer, I'm considering countering with the offer below. My only concern there is it leaves me pretty thin at my rb2. What do y'all think? Get Gurley, or stand pat? I'm currently 4-2. Thanks for your time.

Give: Mixon, Chubb, 2019 1st (mid-late)
Get: Gurley

I think the deal is right around where Gurley's value should be, but your RB corps becomes very thin after Gurley if you make that deal. I'd want to stand pat if you're giving up Mixon+Chubb+mid 1st and try to package that first + Marvin or Robby for a WR upgrade?

Probably fair. Might look like an overpay a year from now, but also worth it now if you're competing.

If 2-4 I would make that deal. Don't think you get a high enough draft pick to shore up the RB position. Now Gurley is ELITE and there are very few of them around. Personally I don't know how you are 4-2, must have had the right matchups. If you could somehow keep Chubb and give up Geronimo, then maybe. Otherwise I don't know how this helps your team. You will be having high draft picks in '20, which should be a better drafting year for RB than '19
QB: Mayfield, Bridgewater, Fitzpatrick
RB:David Johnson, Mixon, Chubb, James Robinson, Mattison, K Vaughn
WR: AJG, K Allen, D Adams, JuJu, C Godwin, D Slayton, S Miller
TE: Engram, Kittle
K: Succup
Def.: Arizona

Champions 2006 and 2018. Second a few times in between, again in 2019.

No PPR. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB,WR,TE) 1K 1 1 Def
Drop 7 ea yr. 20 player roster with up to 2 IR

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm gonna stand pat for now.

As for those questioning how I got to 4-2, I'm pretty set on the idp side and they've carried me when my offense has stalled.
