Corey Clement Long-Term

Postby rschroeder1 » Wed Oct 17, 2018 8:27 am

How are people viewing Clement long-term? With Ajayi an unrestricted free agent after this year and his current injury, my guess is the Eagles do not re-sign him this offseason.

Obviously we'll see what Clement does this year, but I'm curious if people see him as growing beyond a complementary RB piece to a player with enough sustainable volume to be an every week RB2.

Appreciate anyone's insight.

I see it as possible that he is leaned on a bit more heavily throughout the rest of this season. This will give the Eagles brass a barometer of what he is capable of with added responsibility. Anything "we" say here is a guess. Clement, imo is a tad better than a jag. In the right system with the appropriate volume, he could easily be a rb2 for fantasy purposes. I don't think the Eagles will have Rb super high on their needs but I do think they'll strongly consider a 2nd day addition to their rb corp. If a player slips and they have him high on their draft boards though, it could happen. It all really hinges on how Clement handles his chances as the season moves on. If he does well, t his will affect how the Eagles view their wants and needs list. If he falls flat on his face or does little with the increased opportunity, & If they bring in a blue chip rb next year Clement would likely be the player that stands the most to lose.

My guess is he's a 2018 option, and obviously only because Ajayi is down. Wasn't super high on him, was more of a depth/bye-week fill in guy who might have more opportunity. Well, until Sproles comes back and makes the backfield a big mess again. They love them some Sproles in Philly.

Doubtful. PHI wants to keep using a RBBC, and they will add pieces via FA or the draft. I'd sell Clement ASAP for a mid 2nd or better if not contending this year.

Agree with this. Philly will use him and Smallwood this year, add someone next year. Sell if you can now or before free agency in March.

servicible RB3 this year, I'd guess they bring someone else in either in FA or through the draft though. Issue with him is that he hasnt looked like anything special so unlike drake from this past year, really any competition is a real threat IMO. If you can sell him for a 2nd and arent competing Id do it

Rb is not a position Eagles front office will spend a lot about. Eagles did not use a high draft pick on a rb since 1986 and seem very happy about Clement. I think eagles will probably add someone next year to play with Clement because Pederson believes in RBBC. Smallwood is an average player at best and Sproles is done.Clement will never be a bellcow but a good rb sucks in committee. Can still be a good flex.
I play in an idp dynasty keeper league 10 teams with 1 qb start in a ppr league 2 en 2 wr 1te 1 flex. This is a roster of 35 players and a ts of 5 players in mfl and this is a ppr league

For my sig league a few weeks ago, I sold him for a 1st and change because I don't believe in Clement as a bellcow. I expect the Eagles will bring in someone, and that person may be a 1b in a committee, a 1a or may even push for bellcow status himself. I see so many ways Clement can lose value/status in the RB touches pecking order in Philly next offseason, but think he'll make a good flex play this year with the potential for more.

Very very smart move, if only to be able to flip it for another guy later like a Freeman

Would you trade Foreman for Clement, if you needed production in short term? Long term who do you think is the better asset?
