If you haven't bought already, you're late to the party. Right now, he's PFF's highest graded TE and is averaging 70+ yards per game with good blocking.

If you can...
I think anyone who owns him knows the upside and knows there could be a breakout any given week. I'd guess he's priced behind Gronk, Kelce, maybe Engram (depending on the OJ owner), probably Ertz still (although the concussions scare me away personally), and league to league priced around Njoku. I personally hold Goedert up right at this level as well...but that's because of my Ertz concussion concern. I'm not sure how "low" you can buy such a hyped TE

In fact...real talk...
I'd take Kelce first, then Gronk, and then I think it's Howard for me. I wouldn't sell him for any other tight end outside of Kelce and Gronk.

Even Ertz?

I personally always thought Howard was going to be a good TE - I think he had one of the safest floors of all the TEs from 2017. I unfortunately did not get many shares because there were too many other WR/TE/RB targets in the late 1st early 2nd, and I thought his upside would be blocked for several years due to situation, and used that as a tiebreaker against (ie there would be a 2nd buy in option down the road). Obviously not!

I think this was a blessing of the 2017 class - unless you were really unlucky or incompetent - even if you missed out on a Howard you got a Kamara / JuJu / Hunt / NJoku / Engram

Yeah I think so...
Like I said, the concussions scare me. Plus. Howard has Brate, but Ertz has Goedert and I think more highly of Goedert than Brate. I actually think Goedert looks like a better fantasy talent than Ertz, too, but it might take a couple years for that to be realized.

Would you prefer Godwin or Howard in a vacuum?

He was drafted around there to do exactly what he's doing now. So that's probably a good range.

Howard, and not because I don't like Godwin. It has more to do with the depth of talent available at WR. Tight ends are a more shallow position and also are injured more often.

I still think his price is reasonable. But it could explode or fizzle.

That’s interesting but reasonable. Both are good players. I wouldn’t give any more than Godwin straight across though.

I’m a howard owner so I’m biased but I have him over Engram and right around Hunter Henry. The guy is a beast, is being utilized more, and is an actual TE unlike Engram. While that may not translate to fantasy scores it does translate to being on the field more which helps. He breaks a few big plays every year as well. He is not your typical TE that takes years to develop. As a Howard owner I would not sell him unless I got a haul and I feel like most feel the way I do.

Kelce
Gronk
Ertz
Engram
Njoku
Henry
Howard

Was my ranking going into the season. I tried to acquire all in that order via trade before this season and landed Howard finally. My ranking is still pretty much the same.
