I was impressed. The leadership was pretty darn good for a rookie who was probably the best player on his entire offense.

Nope it was obviously a fluke. There is no possible way a kid playing against crap competition in college with a completion percentage below 57.2 percent could ever be good. Its just not possible. Based on my analysis of the advanced statistics its impossible.

Once again nerdville proven wrong.

Statistics only go so far. Tough to measure one's character and grit. Josh Allen has leadership skills that I think will pay off in the long run. Impressive win for the rookie against my purple. Gotta admit, I didn't see it coming. I don't think many people did.

A couple things:
1. While I'm an Allen fan despite the analytics, the analytics are usually right
2. Are we crowing him after one game? Again -- he looked good, but one big win doesn't make a stud.

While I'm also an Allen fan and hopeful, I think it's important to point out, while analytics are right more than they are wrong, that only means >50%, which leaves quite a bit up for interpretation. I think analytics are essential but need to be taken in context and occasionally with a grain of salt. I think beyond the stats, his guts were the biggest thing on display vs MN. It was very encouraging, and I think if they can improve the line and add some weapons they could really be in business.

I met Denny Green on a Commercial flight once. Sat right across from him. Cool dude. This was after his MN stint, but I believe it was before this epic rant. We talked some football of course, but he was really laid back and down to earth. Thought it might be relevant considering this everlasting image in our minds.

His adjusted completion percentage (counting drops as if they were receptions) on the season is still 31st in the league . . . just throwing that out there, lol

And his average depth of target is a hefty 10.9, so there is also that!

Also only completing 58% of passes thrown between 0-9 yards of the LOS so far this season . . . typically that number should be close to 80%
