How is this team 0-3? Advice?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

How is this team 0-3? Advice?

Postby Vectorgod » Mon Sep 24, 2018 1:41 pm

So I went into this season thinking I had a contender (again). Yet here I am looking at an 0-3 record and wondering how to move forward. Here are the specifics:

10 Team, PPR (1.5 TE), active roster 23, taxi squad 10

QB—Carr, Alex, Tyrod
RB—DJ, Kamara, Hyde, Chubb, Martin, Damien Williams
WR—AB, Nuk, OBJ, Tate, Cobb, Hogan, Beasley, Humphries
TE—Kittle, Ebron, Cook, Clay
K—Myers
DST—Jets
Taxi—Kizer, Rosen, Booker, Breida, Perine, Chase Edmonds, JuJu, Ian Thomas

It is a contract year league so there are extra considerations above strict player value, as well as explaining why we have such a deep taxi squad. But right now I'm just looking at how to break the losing streak.

My first thought is to move AB for QB/TE help, then bring up JuJu from my taxi squad to replace AB. I've been all in on AB for several years and have him on most of my rosters, but I think he is the most expendable piece of significant value for this team. JuJu and Breida are my most valuable taxi squad players and could obviously replace any of my scrubs at WR and RB, but does it make sense to bring them up?

As I've started putting out feelers I've gotten 2 offers that weren't great value but I suppose were decent starting points for negotiation.

Offer 1
Give AB, 2019 Rd4
Receive Cam, Alfred Morris, Marvin Jones, 2019 Rd3
I don't care anything about Morris and Jones as they just clog up roster space and cost me contract years to cut. This trade makes me much better at QB, but it still feels like an overpay for me. This one basically comes down to giving AB for Cam and upgrading a middle round pick. I do have to admit watching Cam play yesterday I did feel some remorse for not pulling the trigger, now I'm hoping for 30+ out of AB tonight!

Offer 2
Give Cobb
Receive Keenum
This does nothing but give me another mediocre QB.

Maybe I'm just over-reacting to early season disappointment from stud players (Johnson!). Maybe I should just ride with Alex and Carr, hoping one of them comes around? Hope that Cook keeps up his production and doesn't slide into irrelevance like he has done before?

I wouldn't do that trade for Cam. I would be looking for a TE upgrade - AB should be able to get you Kelce even in TE premium.

and as far as your record you don't get many roster better than yours you've just been unlucky

I would wait to trade AB until he has a good game. His value is low right now. You should move JuJu up to the big club.

Team looks pretty stacked- 10 teamers should thou. Qb is a little light spot & Te is a little weak for a 1.5 league.

Possibly look to upgrade there. Pass on those offers but I don't see Cobb ever starting for you. So maybe take a shot on Keenum
