Trade fairness - Trade REJECTED by league

Postby Shcritters » Thu Sep 06, 2018 2:13 pm

Need the forum's judgement on a trade. In a 6-pt passing TD contract/salary league, it is essentially a trade of 1-year of Aaron Rodgers for 1 year of Phillip Rivers and 1 year of Allen Robinson. The Allen Robinson side would also have the option to tag ARob for 3 years after this year if he performs well and he wants to commit ~25% of his cap space to that player.

Edit: One small update I want to add to make sure the context is there - in a $320 cap league ARod went for auction for 1-year at $75, while Rivers was at $20 and ARobinson was at $4 (last year of rookie contract). This meant, for cap reasons, the ARod owner had to send over $50 with Rodgers to make the deal work.

How does the forum feel about this trade?

Seems fair to me in a 6pt for TD league. A big upgrade at QB for a WR with potential.

I'm not sure which side you think got fleeced... It's not like Rivers is a slouch.

Seems ok, but I'd rather have the Rivers side. Rodgers is obviously better, but how much better is he going to be for just this year? Rivers will still put up QB1 numbers and you get a WR2 with WR1 upside.

Doesn't change anything for me. As long as he has the cap space it make sense to grab Rodgers. Not sure what the big deal is here.

I’d rather have Arob side.

I think the replies on this thread show that what some people think is a steal is an overpay to others.

What sort of ruling is needed here? I think it's even and if anything I would favour the Rivers side for one year. When you say "a ruling", surely this can't be considered for a veto? I think the responses here clarify that it's a pretty reasonable deal.

qbs=5pt tds wr/te=1 ppr rbs=.5ppr all get .25ppc
Watson, Brady, Mills
Ekeler, Hunt, Carson/Penny, DForeman, Mitchell, CPat, Kyren, Ford, KHarris
Cooper, sutton, Chase, Shepard, Atwell, Schwartz, Wan'Dale, Austin III
Gesicki, Engram, Hooper, Woods
team 2 -start QB 2RB 3WR TE 2Flex K D
Cousins, Stafford
DH JT, Ekeler, Kylin Hill, Herbert, KHarris, Chandler
Hopkins, Diggs, Adams, Godwin, McLaurin, Callaway, DPJ, Robby Anderson, Schwartz, Pierce, Wan'Dale, Doubs

I think you are hung up on what the owner's in this league paid, not the market value of the players. I love Rodgers, but lean to the Rivers ARob side of this deal.

If both owners accepted it.... it's a good trade.
