Jonnu Smith

Postby DJB » Tue Sep 04, 2018 9:19 pm

Just curious and looking for some thoughts on this guy as he hasn't been discussed for a while.

Are there any firm believers that he has elite upside but merely blocked by Walker at the moment?

Hes definitely a hold in two TE leagues, but outside of deeper leagues is anyone else stashing him?

Im stashing him and I am not in a deep league. He flashed his rookie season. Hes a hold especially for any Walker owners, which I am.

I don't know when Jonnu's time will come but I am very much looking forward to it.

Fantastic college production at an incredibly early age

I'm a believer in Jonnu, just have to wait it out like most TEs entering the league. I have him stashed in a SF league and I don't even own Walker. Plus there isn't a ton of WR depth on the Titans roster so once his time comes, he should get a healthy chunk of targets.

He's technically listed as a starter, so it's clear that Tennessee has him as a piece of their game plan.

However, to what extent all depends on Delanie Walker.

I traded him for Ekeler and many here thought I got taken. Pretty sure I won that trade.

I'm a very firm believer. Dude is only 23 and Delanie is 34. Likely Delanie's last contract. If you're able I'd hold him these next two years. Tight end is frustrating but you gotta hold tight.

He should be owned in most leagues.

I was holding, but let him go after Walker's extension. But only because my league only allows 10 keepers.
TheFantasyFootballGuys Dynasty League (13 keeper-PPR)
QB: Mahomes | Stafford | Mayfield
RB: Barkely | Henry | Etienne | Akers | Penny |
WR: Thomas | Bateman | Pittman | Metchie | Shaheed | W. Robinson
TE: Dulcich | Kincaid | Latu
Start: QB-RB-RB-WR-WR-TE-Flex-Flex-K-DEF

Buzz's BBQ Dynasty League(18 keeper-PPR)
QB: J Allen | Stafford |
RB: J.Williams | J Taylor | Mostert | Herbert | Hall | Tucker | Charbonnet
WR: Chase | AJ Brown | Mims | JSN | Metchie | W Robinson
TE: Engram | LaPorta | Pitts | Latu | Ferguson
Start: QB-RB-RB-WR-WR-TE-FLEX-K-DEF

In those settings I agree with your decision.

I had owned quite a few shares but have found him on my roster bubble already this offseason. Im still hopeful for him and really havent wanted to let go, but im not a fan of wasting roster spots on a bunch of te's if i dont need to. Im a believer, just dont have the room in most leagues.

Definately will be keeping an eye on him.

Big fan, literally the same size/speed comp as Delanie walker and his clear heir apparent for the Titans. I wouldn't be surprised if he supplants Walker before WAlker's new contract is up.
