Who to drop?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Who to drop?

Postby Darvish11 » Mon Aug 20, 2018 7:14 am

For some reason after our startup someone has dropped Hunter Henry, so I was looking at using my #2 waiver position on him. (good use right?)
Planning on dropping Abdullah for him, team is in the sig.
Also wanted to pick up Taywan Taylor & was looking at dropping Rivers, but that leaves me needing to somehow pick up a QB/TE at week 11 for bye fillers (although by that point Kelley might be droppable). Also wouldn't mind keeping Rivers to play matchups/injury insurance for Brady..

Any thoughts? Am I playing this a little too much like a redrafter?

Hey, thanks for the reply -
Seems like that may be the best choice. Just feel a bit hesitant to cut Powell as he always seems to have decent flex/rb3 value by the end of every season(normally finishes every year around rb30 with any sort ppr scoring I think? makes a decent fill in here and there it seems) & he seems to be in line for a bit more work this season with a easy running schedule.

Out of curiousity would you take Taywon over John Brown? Noticed he was available as well.

Kelly as in the backup for the rams? Why not try I trade him for a third round pick from the gurley owner. Sell him as the handcuff and use that roster spot for taywan?

If it’s fat Kelley then ya i would drop Powell too. He’s the third down back for a bleep offense not exactly a recipe for fantasy relevance. At least fat rob is looking to get the first team reps and starting role.

RB: Kareem Hunt, Christian McCaffrey, Duke Johnson, Isaiah Crowell, Rashaad Penny, James Conner, Sony Michel, Nyheim Hines, Jamal Williams

Sorry, it is Fat Rob.
Also we are a very recent startup so I'm not sure that trading picks will be a thing for awhile yet - there was a rule added that if you trade future picks you need to pay 50% of the dues for next season so you don't just yolo trade your picks to win and dump your team. Not that I agree with the rule, just how it ended up. Assuming as well that everyone feels they will contend this season so I don't know that they are ready to trade yet.

I see what you are saying about Powell, I don't think he puts up the numbers you think this year, and after this year he might not even be a Jet, Crowell and McGwire will be the guys.

and I would not, Brow has a tough time staying healthy, and he still have Crabtree, Sneed, Hurst and the backs to compete with.
I see he is getting hype, but id rather have TT, younger.

Curious if Rob Kelley would be the one to drop now with the AP signing. Seems like Powell might be getting more playing time than he’s getting credit for.

At any rate, I think I can just cut my D for the time being and decide in a couple weeks.

I'd cut Abdullah, Powell, and Kelley for Henry, Brown, and Taylor in that order.

If you are only worried about that 1 bye week fill in i would just use trubisky for that. Trade rivers to make room. No way you would sit brady no matter what the matchup anyways!
