Shane Vereen

Postby kamihamster » Wed Jul 18, 2018 8:53 am

Is he a thing now? Passing down back on the Saints is always a good role to have. Kamara should be the lead back but maybe Vereen is that reliable veteran that Peyton likes so much.

ive stashed vereen in alot of leagues because i thought he was a much better runner than bb opportuned. i cut him in every single 1 of them.

i would not be suprised to see him take over as the change of pace to kamara

Vereen is closer to Cadet in that offense than he is to Kamara/Sproles/Bush. I'm more interested in what it means for Kamara that the saints have added Scott and Vereen, 2 guys who look built for the receiving back role. I'd guess Kamara is going to get his chance to prove he can handle a big workload this season.

OTOH, they also signed West, so maybe they're just covering their bases with lesser versions of each type of back.

I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

He had some promise when he came into the league but otherwise has been a roster-clogger his entire career.

No fantasy value whatsoever unless there are 2-3 injuries ahead of him.

So far as I can see, he's just a camp-body signed in response to waiving Lasco.

This. Better off going after Boston Scott. Much better off going after Terrance West. Probably the most likely to get touches on early downs outside of Kamara while Ingram is suspended.

He might make the 53, but he's more like the backup 3rd down back behind Kamara or if they decide to roll with Kam the 4 weeks Ingram is out Vereen can help spell him on 3rds

The most intriguing thing out of this is that the Saints didn't add a 1/2 back to help fill in Ingram out first 4 weeks. Guess we're gonna see Kamara with a workload

I also have rostered Vereen in the recent past and was actually able to sell him for a 3rd last season I think. However at this point Boston Scott can sit on my taxi and doesn't take up an active roster spot, therefore he's more valuable to me.

He's worth owning on deep league rosters. But, I wouldn't hold my breath banking on him. He does possess the skill set that the Saints love to use though. So, you never know. If Kamara were to get injured, you never know how all of that will play out with Ingram suspended.
