Moving Gronk

Postby BigBawseRoss » Mon Jun 11, 2018 5:36 am

Had an inquiry about Gronk from an owner who lost Hunter Henry. Thing is that this owner is likely my biggest challenge. And im also not sure if moving him helps my team as i am trying to defend my title. Would hate to miss a chance to get a young WR for the next 5+ year tho and have Gronk get hurt or something lol. I do have Ertz and Burton, and could get my own 2nd back (traded to this guy for ertz before last season hehe) so a TE at 2.12 is a possibility as well.

They have indicated they would like to send back a WR in the deal and they have OBJ, Adams, Green, Sammy, Cooks, JuJu, M Williams, Shepard

Thinking i might be able to get adams and a 2nd for him since this guy is so deep at WR he is very willing to sell one off to get gronk (thinking OBJ wont be on the table and i dont have picks to add to gronk to get him)

This is for team 2 in sig. please let me know if you think A. Sending Gronk makes sense. and B. if i should even be considering sending him to a direct top competitor?

his team listed for reference (qb,rb,rb,wr,wr,flx, flx,k,def)

As long as a move helps my team, I don't worry too much about who I'm trading with. I'd be very happy getting Adams and a 2nd for Gronk

If you can get Adams by himself for Gronk that would be a nice value. That said, you look to have a need at RB...any chance Gronk and Howard could buy one of his guys?

I like this move for your team as well. Especially if he is inclined to move Zeke.

Is the owner really going to be inclined to move big chip, he still has Engram, its not likes its a giant hold at TE.

personally if you can get one of his young WR, id call it a win.

^this. Gronk has one foot into retirement, Adams is Rodgers #1 WR for the next 5+ yrs. Adams is worth more than Gronk. If you really wanted to get that done, try and move the pick to the Gronk side to make up for the youth.

I think if you are targeting Adams, you will have to move the 2nd rounder to the Gronk side. But if you can get Adams and a 2nd for Gronk, go for it.

You don't have a TE listed as a required player in your lineup so I am runing with the assumtion that this isn't a typo.

I don't at all disagree here with the previous posters from the context of value and what is best for your team in the long run in a vacuum. From the perspective of wining this season as you mentioned that was a large part of the equation for you, from where I sit:

If you trade:
You will likely be flexing Adams and Ertz/Thomas/ARob in 2 flex spots.
You're opponent will be looking at flexing Gronkk and Green/Engram/Watkins in 2 flex spots.

If you don't trade:
You are looking at flexing Gronk and Ertz/Thomas/ARob in 2 flex spots.
He would likely be flexing Green/Engram/Watkins/Ajayi in two flex spots

The difference here is mostly on the part of your opponent in that second flex. I don't think that swapping out Gronk for Adams in your flex changes your bottom line a ton but you certainly win the trade for the future. However, now your opponent has a plug and play in Gronk and likely Green rather than having to choose between Engram/Watkins/Ajayi to fill his last flex spot.

Again, I will NOT argue the value is there on the Adams side, but if you are a serious contender, for the money this year, you hold and play Gronkowski until you no longer are. I just don't see this move benefiting your lineup THIS year but it certainly improves his.

Go get Adams, if you can get M. Williams instead of the 2nd then i'd try to do that but whatever you do don't lose the deal involving Gronk for Adams straight up. Great deal for you.
