Johnson is the primary reason I marked Chubb down in my rankings.

His pass catching abilities compare to Bell, Kamara, Johnson, and McCaffrey. He is a considerable force in the passing game.

This was known prior to the draft and shouldn't have been a blow to Chubb owners. His ability should have been recognized by all and baked in the cake. Getting an extension was an easy call.

Chubb will still be an effective back but expecting more than 20-25 receptions would be a reach IMO.

Actions speak louder than words.
Duke extension should clarify things.

If they plan on getting rid of Hyde, it would be smart of them to sign him now for a backup/step up role while the price is only going up from here. Plus they know what they have in him..My opinion is it is an intelligent security sign deal that can also pay off if chubb falters

Think this is worse for duke* than chubb

It does not change anything because we knew this was coming and we also know Chubb is not a true 3-down back. His fantasy ceiling is basically Jordan Howard.

Ahh...was thinking Duke would be one of the top free agent rbs next offseason. Not to be.
Wise move by the Browns imo

Bingo...well close enough. I think Chubb has the ability to be a superior Howard, albiet not AP.

Probably not surprising, but only once in the last 10 years has a team had 3 RBs with at least 30% of backfield touches each. Just 8 teams have had 3 RBs with at least 25% of backfield touches. Much more likely a CLE RB is completely irrelevant than an even three-way split

Still a great guy to have, especially in non-PPR formats.

Duke's overdrafted ADP should decrease rapidly now. Will never top 100 carries. Going to be hard to catch 60 balls again with all their weapons and running QB's. His slot work will be gone too.

Doesn't change anything unless you were under the impression Chubb was going to be a three-down back.

I agree that his fantasy upside is rookie year Jeremy Hill or current Jordan Howard.

Bad news for Chubb, Duke, and Hyde.

If you had hope than any one of the three would dominate touches in the near future that isn't going to happen. If you hoped that Duke would sign elsewhere in 2019 free agency and get a shot at a starting gig, that's out the window. Now it's a full-blown committee that might work out just fine from a perspective of competing in the NFL. But for fantasy, this news isn't good for anyone.

Best case scenario for any of these RB's now is RB2 ceiling for the next couple seasons. Certainly valuable, not a best case scenario that anyone rostering these three was hoping for.

Gore was not really a bowling ball type guy for most of his career. He also has almost 90 twenty yard runs and 19 fourty yard runs for his career. He also caught over 40 balls for 5 straight years. To me he was a great mix of elusive and power.. He would give a move, which would not completely juke a guy, but get him slightly off balance, then would run through the arm tackle or the defender who was no longer squared up.

Has anyone actually seen the year to year breakdown of the contract? We know that Hyde is an easy cut after year 1, do we know when the team has an out with Duke? Just curious if the team has a solid out before Chubbs rookie deal is up, otherwise, both those contracts will end the same year if I'm not mistaken
