Dunno, mixed feelings on it. Have 1.02 so I could maybe double up on rookie backs or potentially get a nice WR out of it.

Paxton Lynch / Chad Kelly as so many for so long had Elway enamored with Josh Allen and Baker Mayfield since they were around them @ the Senior Bowl.

Perhaps it was only because of B. Chubb falling into their lap but I believe the Broncos Brass didn't see them as that big of an upgrade over the two young QB's in camp already. Could be Elway's finest hour in the War Room. Love the Freeman pick where he got him too. Probably more talented than CJA but does he have the heart & toughness to match. If so Royce is an upgrade...which means Booker and DeAngelo Henderson got screwed.

Super pleased that Collins seems safe. Though I was valuing him as if he would and I thought he would. Earlier in the off season I traded Hyde and Alshon for picks that are going to turn into Guice and DJ Moore. I'm pretty pleased with that at this point. Hyde took a huge hit, Alshon has a rotator cuff problem and the Eagles have a new great TE to throw to as well.

Dodged major bullets with McKinnon, Foreman, Aaron Jones, and Mack. Had a bunch of question marks heading into the draft and a few of them were answered nicely.

I had pick 1.10 going into the draft, and post-draft there's exactly 10 (maaaybe 11) players I like before a big drop-off, so I'm breathing a big sigh of relief from that.

I'm also a Miller/Foreman owner who's very happy the Texans didn't draft a single RB.

Case is a short timer ...and the clock is already ticking. Only $7 mil is guaranteed next year plus signing bonus bumping dead cap up to $10 mil if cut in '19. Not likely to be cut but after the 2019 he's done unless he earns an extension.

So keeping him on a $21 mil cap hit for '19 even as the backup is affordable if Paxton or C. Kelly are the starter since their salary cap cost will be minimal.

Our infatuation with the winning streak the Vikings went on while Keenum held down the fort clouds our eyes to the fact that the majority of his career he looked more like the guy vs the Eagles in the championship game.

Yes he will start the season (as did Siemian) but I don't think he has an unwavering commitment if things go south in a hurry. Come week 10 if not in the hunt for the playoffs we wouldn't be surprised to see one of youngsters get the bye week to get ready for a start.

I don't disagree with the premise, but I also think it's an extreme long shot for Lynch or Kelly to ever be considered a starter. Lynch was drafted with that in mind and already across two seasons failed so poorly to win the job that the Broncos brought in Keenum. Are we honestly going to suggest that Lynch could be starting in 2019? That would take a grand imagination for it to happen and with that better odds than for it to go to Kelly. If Keenum is just a placeholder it is for a future QB TBD.
