Re: Jordan Matthews???
If this makes Malcolm Mitchell any cheaper thats the player to acquire for my taste.

Recent value poll for Jordan Matthews for those interested:

Most answers between late 1st-late 2nd as a buyer. Some variability obviously but the range is consistent. Looks like a good time to sell if you have him but don't believe. Getting a late 1st would be a boon imo.

Re: Jordan Matthews???
Got Matthews as a throw in pre landing spot. 100+ target wr first 3 years that dealt with injuries last year. Was hoping to get Watkins as a buy low but his owners value him way too much for my liking so I preferred Matthews at their current prices.

Re: Jordan Matthews???
Worst Case: JMatt doesn't make the roster. 50-50 for me until we see proof he's healthy *and* passes Belichick muster.
Best Case: JMatt takes over for Edelman by year's end as Julian fades & Jordan finally puts it together with Brady.

Re: Jordan Matthews???
I think JMatt is in a great spot to rehabilitate his value. He is a class act as a teammate and a noted grinder, so he'll fit the culture. His job will be to run exactly where, exactly when and exactly how McDaniels and Brady tell him to and then body out defenders. I think it's a perfect fit for him. This is a good player -who was over-hyped and then derided as trash- with strong production, in a good situation. If he's healthy, he'll have every chance to make a real impact. I wouldn't want to be relying on him as my WR3 this year, but there's every chance he becomes a legit WR3 or better in the medium term.
Re: Jordan Matthews???
The Pats' underneath heavy passing offense might be one of the best possible places for Matthews, if Edelman ever stops hogging so many targets (he's getting old and coming off a major injury, so that might happen). Matthews might well be the Pats' insurance in the slot against the possibility of Edelman being done or close to it. That said, Matthews' erratic hands could be an issue.
Personally, I think the practically free flier people should take in the Pats WR corps right now is Dorsett. He'd be cheaper than the other guys but has talent upside at least as good as every player on the chart not named Edelman. Together with an abysmal floor, of course.

A steal, more like. Utter robbery. Objectively, Matthews is worth maybe a 3rd, at best. I'd be more comfortable with an early 4th. Without knowing how much he's getting paid, we don't even know for sure Matthews isn't just fighting to make the 53.RightlegTucker wrote: ↑Fri Apr 06, 2018 12:22 pm Recent value poll for Jordan Matthews for those interested:

Re: Jordan Matthews???
I’d say late 2/3rd is his range. Late 2nd for truthers. An Athletic Often used slot wr meets Brady. Rookie WRs take awhile to develop, this situation & his skillset are a nice bond. I’d say hold till a big game. Him not making the roster or being used is nonsense, dear god haters lol

Re: Jordan Matthews???
He'll catch maybe 40 passes.
Re: Jordan Matthews???
He signed a one year contract with no published details about the money. 7 times in 10, that means it's a camp-body contract.
And he won't be used much if Edelman is healthy and effective, that's practically guaranteed; it's well established Matthews has struggled all his career to be something other than a big-slot, it's basically why Philly got rid of him. If Matthews is only on the field in 4-wide sets, he isn't gonna do much statistically.

Re: Jordan Matthews???
No reason to settle for a third when people are willing to pay an early to mid 2nd. I certainly wouldn't buy at that price, but that's why I'm advocating for a sell window
Re: Jordan Matthews???
He wasn’t already basically free?

Re: Jordan Matthews???
No. I wouldn't sell for anything less than a 2nd. Gut had a strong rookie year, and a good SB as a rookie. Brady depended on him in the SB in the 4th quarter, too vs ATL. 5 catches in the 4th. A guy that plays like that has a shot to get more targets this year after that. Unfortunate he lost a season, but I'm not selling for a 3rd. I'd prefer to have him over JMatt at this point, actually. I have a feeling JMatt could be out of the league in 2 years.

Re: Jordan Matthews???
Insanity. Seems like a "knee jerk" reaction to a landing spot. I'm surprised Hill is going for peanuts, while Matthews is considered this highly. Hill has the most upside of the two IMO, though I don't like the chances for either.RightlegTucker wrote: ↑Fri Apr 06, 2018 12:22 pm Recent value poll for Jordan Matthews for those interested:

Re: Jordan Matthews???
That’s interesting. I think he was in the mid-late 2nd range in rookie drafts coming out of Georgia because of health concerns related to his knee and he’s already missed an entire season because of it. Guy is talented no doubt but he hasn’t put much down on paper in the NFL and the knee issue is scary. Really doubt that if you put Mitchell on your trade bait in your league that people would be chomping at the bit to pay your price.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Sun Apr 08, 2018 6:03 amNo. I wouldn't sell for anything less than a 2nd. I’m not pretending like perception of JMatt is all that much different but at least he’s put down a few productive and healthy seasons on paper. Mitchell hasn’t done that yet and they are closer in age than you might realize.
