Hopkins Trade

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Hopkins Trade

Postby TroyH » Fri Mar 30, 2018 9:10 am

I have recently been in talks with the Hopkins owner (who is my brother and has no interest in moving him). I sent him the below trade offer, and it seems to have peaked his interest a little but we aren't quite there yet. This is a 10 team league non-ppr format with 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, Flex, 1 TE. We have a 25 man roster, but have drop it down to 20 two weeks before our draft in August.

I get: Hopkins
I send: Julio and ARob

I am in win now mode and don't want to mess up my chances this season. What do I need to add to get this done? He has shown interest in Mixon in prior deals. I have traded with win now teams over the previous two years, which is how I was able to acquire my top guys (that and I sold high on 2018 draft picks). Because of that I am leery about trading for top dynasty assets when they are their peak. Does this deal make sense for my team? Both of our teams are below:

His Team:
QB: ARod, J. Winston
RB: Fournette, Kamara, D Henry, D. Lewis
WR: Hopkins, Hilton, Adams, C. Davis, C. Coleman, Watkins, Doctson, Dez, Golladay
TE: Henry, Rudolph, Shaheen
1.04, 2.03, 2.09, 4.03, 5.03

My Team:
QB: Luck, Taylor, Rivers, Bortles
RB: Gurley, Howard, Mixon, Breida
WR: OBJ, Julio, ARob, Baldwin, J. Gordon, Moncrief, M. Williams, J. Matthews
TE: Gronk, ASJ, Kittle, Burton
3.04, 4.06, 5.06
10-Team League, Non-PPR (QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, WR/RB/TE)
QB: Love, Watson, Cousins
RB: JT, Kyren, BRob, Roschon, Miles
WR: AJB, Wilson, Waddle, Puka, Higgins, Hopkins, Jeudy, Jameson Williams
TE: Okonkwo, Thomas
2024: 1st, 3rd, 4th, 4th, 5th

Doesn't make sense for you to give up that much for one player. Julio should put up similar numbers to Hopkins for the next 2-3 years.
12 Team. Roster 22, 4 TS. PPR, TE Prem (1.75). Start 1 QB, 5 flex (2 RB Max), 1 Def, 1 K
QB P. Mahomes, J. Goff, B Zappe (TS)
RB S. Barkley, N. Chubb, R. Stevenson, T. Pollard, J. Cook, K. Herbert, A. Mattison, E. Mitchell
WR AJ Brown, DK Metcalf, C. Kupp, A. Cooper, D. Hopkins, DJ Moore, B. Aiyuk, R. Doubs, K. Boutte (TS), C. Tillman (TS), M. Wilson (TS)
TE M. Andrews
Def Patriots, Ravens

I think you are losing shipping Julio and ARob, so I will be quiet and listen
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts

I’d rather keep Julio/Arob

My brother and I are currently 2 of the top 3 teams in the league.

I was an average team until late last year when I bought OBJ, Gronk and a 2019 2nd from the same owner for Landry, Ty Mont, Ertz, 2018 1st and 2019 1st. I sent it Thursday before the trade deadline and he accepted it immediately. He is a huge Packer fan and was all in last year. He actually ended up losing in the championship game. And my brother got last in 2016 so he was able to draft Fournette (1.01), Kamara (1.10), and Davis (1.03). He also traded the 1.08 mid draft for Arod, which didn't pan out well. Needless to say he hit on Kamara with the 1.10, and it goes to show one draft can turn around your entire lineup.

QB: Love, Watson, Cousins

I don't think Julio and Arob for Hopkins is that big of an overpay, especially with small starting requirements...but I wouldn't add anything more to get it done.
