12 team start-up: 1.01 pick

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

12 team start-up: 1.01 pick

Postby MMast24 » Fri Mar 02, 2018 12:01 pm

Drafting for 12 team, full PPR dynasty startup in a few days. I have first overall pick and not sure who to go with. Thinking WR but worried what RBs will still be available at the 2/3 turn. Any advice?

OBJ. Some stud RBs will outscore him, but a WR's value will be more insulated long term.

Take your number 1 ranked WR-OBJ, Hopkins etc.

OBJ 98%

Hopkins 2% if you're very worried about Eli Manning and Giants org future

You'll be able to get a Melvin Gordon, McCaffrey, D Freeman running back around the 24 mark according to DLF's rankings.

1.1 is very valuable. Personally I would b fine with one of obj, Hopkins, Gurley or Zeke. Someone will want to move up. Trade back.

I'd take Hopkins or trade back a little.

I agree. If i were you, i'd also offer offer your 2019 1sts & 2nds and try to get 3rds and 4ths in the start up draft. Offer them out to everybody. Early start up picks are way more valuable than future picks.

Move back to 1.04 if you can. Take whoever is left from OBJ, Hopkins, Zeke and Gurley. After that it starts to drop off in a start up for me.

I agree with Hopkins or OBJ but couldn’t fault you for Zeke or Gurley. I’ve been in two startups here recently and Gurley went 1.01 in both.

I’ve picked in this same spot in my last 2 startups, i grabbed Zeke in one since it also had PPC for RBs, the other i picked Gurley. Both were SF and PPR, however it seems the last few years in the leagues i am in it almost takes an act of Congress to get people to trade RBs, there are only a few that are not in a timeshare..it almost seems easier to grab RBs and trade into a higher end WR..

stud rb much harder to find. that said i most likely trade back 5 or so spots and see how things are shaking out while also adding value
team 1
12 team, 1 pt for 4 rec, 0.1 per rush
1qb, 3 rb, 4 wr, te, k, 4 idp
Dak , Herbert
Achane, Breece Hall, KW3Kyren,Ford, Miller, Spiller, z evans, singletary
J Jefferson, Diggs, DK, D Smith Puka, C Watson, E Moore
Njoku , HH, Engram

2024 picks
1,3,4,5,5,6,7 (all late mostly)

team 2
12 team .5ppr
qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, te, flx,flx,
Fields, Dak
Ford,Mixon, Javonte, Mostert, Chubb, Spears
Hopkins, Evans, g Wilson Mingo, shaheed, Jamo
Kelce,McBride, Chig,

1,2,3,3,5

team 3
14 team sf, even scoring idp to offense (rb scores highly too)
Josh Allen, A Rich, Foles, Rudolph
Bijan, Charbs, Spears, Ebner
J Williams, G Wilson, C Watson, Flowers, J Addison, Tillman
Kincaid, Kolar, Ruckert, Fergeson

Kenny Clark, josh allen, jaelen phillips, felix a-u and a bunch of fluff and rookie fliers at idp

For some reason we can't trade these draft picks, only rookie draft. I'm torn between Gurley and OBJ/Nuk. I got so burned last year waiting on RBs (redraft league) but I know WRs typically hold their value longer in dynasty.

are you drafting rookies or rookie picks?
i would definitely go with OBJ...i would bet you can get fournette, freeman, cook type at the turn (take 2 of them if you want)
of course, this all changes if it is a pt per carry league...

good luck
team 1 -start QB RB 2WR TE 2RB/WR 1WR/TE
qbs=5pt tds wr/te=1 ppr rbs=.5ppr all get .25ppc
Watson, Brady, Mills
Ekeler, Hunt, Carson/Penny, DForeman, Mitchell, CPat, Kyren, Ford, KHarris
Cooper, sutton, Chase, Shepard, Atwell, Schwartz, Wan'Dale, Austin III
Gesicki, Engram, Hooper, Woods
team 2 -start QB 2RB 3WR TE 2Flex K D
Cousins, Stafford
DH JT, Ekeler, Kylin Hill, Herbert, KHarris, Chandler
Hopkins, Diggs, Adams, Godwin, McLaurin, Callaway, DPJ, Robby Anderson, Schwartz, Pierce, Wan'Dale, Doubs
Kelce, Andrews, Jacob Harris
