Does Sam Bradford get another shot?

Postby kris_kapsner » Mon Jan 08, 2018 11:58 am

Bradford is a good QB in my opinion. Injuries and a poor situation as a young player have kept him from becoming a perennial top 10 QB in the league. He's coming back from his surgery and practicing with the Vikings now. But, he'll be a free agent.

Do you think he'll get a shot to be a starting QB in 2018?

I think he will get another shot at starting, though he may have to sign on as a backup somewhere first. No one is going to give him a lot of guaranteed money, but an incentive laden contract is likely.

I agree that the's a good QB when healthy, but I wouldn't bet on his knees holding up for long.

Yes, but it may not be an offer he views as worthy. Whoever signs him, will have to plan on whoever their backup is logging significant minutes. Most of his offers will likely be in the high-end backup QB range. He may not view that as worth sticking around the league.

I would take the under on Bradford starting 8 games in 2018, whether due to signing as a backup or injury. I think had he not languished under Jeff Fisher for years and could stay healthy, Bradford could be a top-10 QB in the league, but things are how they are.

This pretty much sums up how I feel about his situation. Probably signs as a backup on a team with a bad starting QB and eventually gets a shot to start.
