Jamal for a WR

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Jamal for a WR

Postby Edgy68 » Fri Jan 05, 2018 12:13 pm

For Panthers Dynasty, I am not convinced Jamal Williams has the lead role next year. It seems the coaches (and Rodgers) prefer Aaron Jones. I'd like to see if I can flip him now for a player like Tyrell Williams or Josh Doctson to add WR depth and starting prospects. Does the Jamal flip make sense?

I don't like those options. Who knows where Kirk Cousins ends up. Also, I'm not sure where you drafted J.Williams but I feel like if you wanted to ship him away you could get late 1st round value for him or early 2nd.

I doubt you'll be able to get either of those players for Williams. Everyone knows he probably won't win the starting gig. And even if he does, it's likely to be a brutal timeshare

I would not sell Williams for that. Realistically, what is the upside for Tyrell Williams other than a possession receiver? He's like Jordan Matthews, but worse. Also, I'm avoiding Josh Doctson with WAS being a mess, and Kirk Cousins likely leaving this offseason. Williams is stuck in a RBBC, but on one of the best offenses in the league when Aaron Rodgers is healthy. Also, it's very likely GB tries to commit to the running game more next year given everything that happened in 2017 with Rodgers' injury and the coaching firings/changes. I'd much rather have the upside of Williams than either of those WRs.

I think trading Williams is a good idea, as he will be part of a committee at best in GB (imo). I don't think you'll get Doctson though. Tyrell could happen as he under-performed this year and Jamal over-performed.

I wouldn't either. I'd much rather have Doctson and as an owner of Tyrell, I wouldn't move him for Jamal Williams as I don't view him as any more than the #2/3 in that offense. I'm not confident that the Packers even believe they have a "starter" on their roster.

I agree with your feelings towards Jamal Williams.

I think there might be someone in your league who does believe in him, though. So floating out these type of offers is a good idea.

I would definitely prefer Doctson to both J and T. Williams. I have no interest in Tyrell. Other guys you might be able to get that I like are Coleman, Godwin+, Parker, Zay+, and Moncrief+.

I'd move him for Doctson as well if that's an option.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I struck out on Tyrell, but ended up roses. I found an owner in dire need of RBs and LBs who accepted J. Williams, C. Clement, J. Schobert (he's also a CLE fan like me), and the 3.11 for his Brandon Cooks.

I may be biased, but if you can get Doctson for Williams, that's a win for you. Cousins maybe gone, but Doctson has proven himself as a redzone threat at least. He was more and more intergrated into that offense as the year went on. He technically was a rookie and had 14 ypc and 6 TDs.

Your WR core needs help so I would get the guys have the highest upside. I don't like that backfield either.
