which roster moves should I do?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

which roster moves should I do?

Postby gunzwil guinea pigs » Fri Dec 22, 2017 5:14 am

Hi Guys

My first dynasty year comes to an end. made playoffs with some luck and had no chance there...
We have a 30man roster and have to cut 5 players right before rookie draft (draft late). My picks gonna be 1.04, 1.06, 1.10, 2.06, 4.01 see team below

I think, my team is solid going forward, eventhough having some WR/TE issues... can you give me some general advice?
2QB-Dynasty - 10 Team standard scoring - 30man roster
2QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1Flex, K, D/ST

RB: Breece Hall, Tony Pollard, Najee Harris, Joe Mixon, Rashaad Penny, Damien Harris
WR: CeDee Lamb, Garrett Wilson, Stefon Diggs, Devonta Smith, Terry McLaurin, George Pickens, Calvin Ridley, Zay Flowers, Robert Woods, John Metchie, Marvin Mims
TE: Kyle Pitts, Irv Smith, Trey McBride
K: Tyler Bass
D/ST: Browns, Washington, Packers

Picks 2024: 1st, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th
Picks 2025: 1st, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th
Picks 2026: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th

The first thing I would do is get rid of a couple QBs. 7 QBs is way too many in any league. I doubt you can trade Dobbs or Dalton but if you can I’d do it. If not I’d be happy enough cutting them. Other than that your team looks okay minus WR depth and overall TE quality. Stay the course. You could consider moving a guy like Julio for a younger guy plus but that’s preference. I’d consider that since the rest of your team is pretty young. If you can get something for Maclin I’d take it but I don’t see him having much of a return.

Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX, 1 SF, 1 K

QB- Rodgers, Wentz,
RB- DJ, Barkley, Kamara, Cook, Mixon, Jamaal Williams, Aaron Jones, Ekeler, Lindsay, Powell
WR- AB, OBJ, Nuk, Michael Thomas, Adams, Watkins, Josh Gordon, Dante Pettis, Doctson, Tyrell, Josh Reynolds
TE- Zach Ertz, Jordan Reed, Hunter Henry, Shaheen
DL- Watt, Donald, Campbell, Griffen, Graham, Irving
LB- Kuechly, Lee, Kwon, Martinez, Hicks, Eric Kendricks, Edmunds, Preston Brown, Hitchens
DB- Landon Collins, Keanu Neal, Poyer, Hyde, Quin, Cyprien

Dak , Herbert
Achane, Breece Hall, KW3Kyren,Ford, Miller, Spiller, z evans, singletary
J Jefferson, Diggs, DK, D Smith Puka, C Watson, E Moore
Njoku , HH, Engram

2024 picks
1,3,4,5,5,6,7 (all late mostly)

team 2
12 team .5ppr
qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, te, flx,flx,
Fields, Dak
Ford,Mixon, Javonte, Mostert, Chubb, Spears
Hopkins, Evans, g Wilson Mingo, shaheed, Jamo
Kelce,McBride, Chig,

1,2,3,3,5

team 3
14 team sf, even scoring idp to offense (rb scores highly too)
Josh Allen, A Rich, Foles, Rudolph
Bijan, Charbs, Spears, Ebner
J Williams, G Wilson, C Watson, Flowers, J Addison, Tillman
Kincaid, Kolar, Ruckert, Fergeson

7 QBs.. even in a 2 qb league is nuts... I think you have to clear out 2-3 of them. Either try to sell for future drafts picks, or something.

As for the draft I'd be looking RB, TE and maybe trade 1 of the firsts for a decent WR2 if you can. Maybe package a qb and later first for a WR

I would maybe try and upgrade 2 QB to a better.

Then i would try to get a top TE and Wr for J. Jones and a late first..

Maybe Engram, Landry or Engram and Hill..

I do agree that you dont need much, but you MUST get better at TE (Ertz or Engam) should be on top of your list

Did you look at his other QBs? I suggested letting Dalton go because he is terrible and has very little value unless you can start three QBs and I haven’t seen vey many of those leagues. I first suggested he trade them but Dalton has almost no value right now. With Mariota, Luck, and Trubisky plus McCarron possibly in a good landing spot he doesn’t need Dalton and Dalton is barely even startable at this point.

Get rid of your kicker. Get rid of 2 defenses. I would look to shop all RBs outside of Lenny, Mixon and Tevin since you can add more via the draft. I would look to flip Julio for two WRs in the WR10-15 range if possible before your league mates start devaluing Julio too much. You could maybe even package Julio and the 1.06 (since I don't know if there will be a huge difference between that and the 1.10 this year) for two very good WR options -- although you might want to wait til closer to your draft to move that pick. I would look to add some quality TEs as well but you can wait and do that closer to the season. I agree that you could cut Dobbs and look to trade one or two others as well, however I would prob hang onto Mariota since his price is down and I expect a bounce back with a new head coach (fingers crossed).

Team looks solid. I'd just keep building. Either keep the picks and draft best available, package some and move up to 1.01, or package them and get a stud WR or two.
