Chris Hogan

Postby DinoDynasty » Mon Sep 25, 2017 12:41 pm

What is he worth? I sold him in for team 1 in sig, where I was loaded at WR for Crowell, and now am regretting it a bit. I own him in a few other leagues and wondering if he is worth holding onto or selling after scoring in b2b games.

pick wise, I think I was thinking he's around a mid 2nd for a competing team, does that sound right?

Brady has been a goldmine lately, supporting Gronk, Cooks and Hogan....and even Gillislee.

I have to imagine Hogan will be the new Decker when it comes to value, guy who is producing and has great chemistry with a great QB but will anyone pay up for him? Most people picked him up for literally nothing last year and could ride his production out.

However, if your trade happened after Week 1, while the Crowell train was still rolling, that seems like you got a lot for Hogan. Now it just comes down to if Crowell becomes a huge ADP bust.

Thats tough because I think week to week you never know who is going to be the target hog in NE. As great as Brady is, he wont throw for 400 yards and 5 TDs every week.

Mid-2nd sounds about right. Hogan is never going to be a highly valuable player, but I do think he's the Patriots WR to own for this season. If you can get him for that price, I'd be all over it.

Agree - though trading Hogan for the price he's worth is going to be the issue.

It's the Pats, so trusting their receivers in fantasy beyond Gronk right now is similar to trusting their backfield, which everyone hates. This unfortunately knocks down his return a lot.

I'm rebuilding and couldn't sell Gillislee for a bag of rocks all off-season, or even after Week 1 or 2. Just the way it is - few guys have the guts, especially in Patriots country. :ewink:

Yeah, its very hard to capture Hogan's points, he has some great match-ups and has had zeros .. not so great match-ups and he blows up for two TDs .. very unpredictable, his two TD's vs HOU were mainly busted coverages where HOU was really worried about Brandin Cook's speed ..

Chris Hogan reminds me of Desean Jackson and Santana Moss. Their end of year stats always look decent, but you were playing roulette as to when to start them to catch a big game. As others have mentioned, you're nearly as likely to get a zero or very few points as you are to getting the games he has a long TD or two.

Hogan is getting 15% of the targets and 38% of passing tds... something has to give in these numbers. either his tds regress (most likely) or target share increases.

Same boat. Best offer has been a 3rd rounder. Would rather keep him in the event of injuries/bye weeks. Sucks bc I feel I am rather loaded at WR and can't even make a minor trade or use him as a throw in bc this league doesn't seem to think he has any value.

I just moved Hogan + J Hill for Taywan Taylor and a 2nd. Neither will ever play on my team and I'll take the upside.

hmmm. I'd respectfully disagree. I think the wr to own both now and into the future even after Brady retires is Brandon Cooks. As he gets more acclimated to Belichick's scheme, I'd bet that he outscores Hogan by a large margin in fantasy points this year. For the cost though, I'd agree, Hogan is the value pick. The production is very up and down / hit or miss - and that applies to all offensive players not named Brady or Gronk.

Well said.

And I agree that the most likely scenario is the TD percentage drops moving forward. Unless they start losing additional WR's to injury.
