IMO, Davis has more fantasy value...

Peppers is the player that the Jets were looking for with Pryor...

Pryor with an interesting opportunity to rejuvenate. Gregg Williams' defense produces okay Safety numbers, it will be interesting to see if the rumors are true that Jabrill will play some nickel LB.

I believe Gregg Williams isn't 100% comfortable with Peppers (a rookie) playing 100% of the snaps at SS without any competition to keep him honest.

No offense to Peppers and his ability, but Cleveland still has a fairly young defense and Pryor brings some experience to a young DB group. Peppers played very little safety in college and he's about to play 1000 snaps at the highest level. Adding Pryor to the group can help everyone. Maybe not for IDP purposes, but we all know NFL coaches don't make moves for fantasy nuts like us. Lol.

Everything I've read about Gregg Williams is that his LB's stay on the field. Since Collins & Kirksey both inked long-term deals, I would expect them to remain on the field in subs.

I think Peppers & Pryor could end up sharing duties at SS, and/or playing together. If Kindred has improved from his rookie season, perhaps a 3 man rotation at safety could happen. Campbell may be the odd man out in the secondary.

Having said all this, I could be 100% wrong, so take it fwiw. πŸ‘

I'll go out on a limb and say Cleveland will use Pryor as a WLB, moving Kirksey to MIKE? The Jets were already trying Pryor out as a LB part time last season.

I don't think either guy has much value but I'd rather take a stab on Pryor. We saw Demario play a ton of snaps on a terrible D last year and his production still sucked. In NY, he's the #3 LB at best. Only has value in a 16-team league where you start 3-5 LBs

The third safety can get a lot of playing time in the box as big nickel/dime, meaning that they'll play two LBs in nickel but use a third safety instead of a third cb. It would be the same way he used Mark Barron before Barron switched to LB. In dime they'll have different packages depending on what the offense is doing, either going 3S and 3CB or 2S and 4CB. Typically that means that whoever plays SS will get full snaps and the big nickel will "only" play ~70% of snaps but they'll be in situations that are high opportunity for tackles and sacks, meaning that they can both be fine IDP options.

Who will man the Mike in early downs? Are we assuming this will be Kirksey? Is he the biggest winner with this trade?

I think it will be Kirksey personally. I don't know that this trade does much to help him tho, he was already gonna be an every snap LB1

We say that, but it's not always the case. It's scheme dependent.

In Dallas, Sean Lee is the WLB but he's the LB to own (even when they had McLain playing)

In Tampa up until 2016, David was the LB to own even tho he's the WLB. Similar situation in Jax, where Smith & Poz both were productive but Smith was the better play.

Yeah. Some other examples of 4-3 WILLs are DeAndre Levy and Burfict. ILBs, MLBs, WLBs are all +++ as long as they play in sub-packages.

Yeah, I don't prefer MLBs over WLBs, I actually have sought the WLB more. I had a league that required 2ILB and 2OLB starters, so the WLB was a specific and limited commodity that I sought to hoard. The league did away with the start specifics because players were switching back and forth so much, it was too much for the commish to manage. Now I treat MLB = WLB.

Wow. Add this to Darron Lee acting a fool at a high-profile event and you have a mess.
