Team Need vs Best Player

Hi all,
I have picks 1.02 and 1.03 and already know that Fournette is going at 1.01 (it's my brother picking and he flat out told me that's the way he's going). I have espoused the best player available strategy forever when I've given other people advice, but now I'm having a hard time taking it myself. I'm in trouble at RB and need an upgrade there desperately, but love Davis and have him as my 1.01 in ranking. I feel my choice is Mixon/CMC or Davis and one of those two (thinking Mixon). Are the values all close enough that it doesn't matter as much or do I have to take Davis?
Additional context: Team is in the sig, the league is RB crazy and so when I pick again late 1st and early 2nd there will likely be no RB in the top 2-3 tiers left.

I think you have needs at both WR and RB so Davis (if you like him) is clearly 1.2, then whoever you like better at RB.

I'd go with Davis regardless of your RB needs. You're not heavy enough at WR where you could pass on him.

Thanks for the thoughts. Sometimes it takes a sober look at the team from someone not involved to really see the players for what they are. I had thought I was ok at WR but clearly I'm not as strong as I had hoped!

If your team were stacked at wr then it may make me think more about it, but with your wr's I'm taking Davis no questions asked. So for me easily Davis and the rb you like best.

You need more at both RB/WR so you'd be doing both BPA and team need

Agree with Davis and Mixon/CMC. Understand your situation, sometimes league activity comes into play. If it's hard to trade and the players are close in value, could see addressing team needs, otherwise don't give up the value of bpa

I would take Davis @ 1.02 and then trade back to 1.04 and take whoever is left between Mixon/McCaffrey as it dosnt sound like you're overly sold on either one.

Piling on the Mixon and Davis recommendation. Worst case scenario for you in doing this is 2 or 3 of Coleman/Perriman/White/Doctson live up to expectations and you then have a great chance to trade a WR for a Solid RB.

I hadn't actually thought of this option. Approaching league mates to trade back and take whoever falls might net me better in the long run. Thanks for the perspective.

Davis & McCaffrey if you ask me. Let someone else take the risk with Mixon

Davis and then trade back even further and pick up Perine. In 0.5 ppr he has a chance to score pretty highly in comparison with the top tier since I think he'll get more RZ carries and is on the most potent offense out of the top tier RBs. If he hits, you can flip him for a more handsome package, and in the process you can likely pick up another decent pick by trading back to the 1.7/8 range.
