OBJ vs Evans

Postby Zak_Dewitt » Sat Apr 29, 2017 10:53 am

With all the offensive pieces that Tampa has added and then NY adding Engram, does the gap between OBJ and Evans as the 1.01/1.02 grow or shrink? Is one a lock as the 1.01 now?

I still have OBJ 1. I think the only drawback is Manning's age. If he is done, who knows what happens with the Giants QB situation and he could see a dip in production.

Easily Evans for me. He isn't a headcase, has the size and speed, plus his QB is young while the Giants are busy trying to find a replacement for Eli.

IMO I dont think obj would take that big of a hit with a new qb. He gets so wide open a highschool qb could make it work, and he can take a short sure fire route like a slant or a shallow cross and a hook and take it to the house.

OBJ...he's so consistent and such a difference maker in real life. Defenses have the hardest time containing him. Plus he has better hands, so many intangibles. People say he's a headcase...has he been in trouble with the law???!!!!

I am an Evans owner. Would take him 1.01 in a dynasty start up draft.

Would never trade 1 for the other straight up tho... too close

Ditto, was offered OBJ straight up for Evans earlier this year, wasn't even tempted

I still like Evans more. The Giants have more options to throw to with Sheppard, Marshall and Engram, Eli is not getting any younger, and Beckham isn't exactly the brightest guy in the room. Plus Beckham last season tended to get most of his points on really long plays..At least it seemed that way sometimes. Yes, Beckham probably has more upside, but is what he is doing really sustainable long term?

I think Evans is a bit safer. He now finally has some real help around him too.. Jackson is that speed threat plus OJ Howard will command some attention where as last season he had literally nobody else.. Yeah Brate was decent but he wasn't all that great. It'll be interesting to see how Evans does in 2017 and beyond.

He has done it for 3 years straight...I would say he is sustaining the dominance pretty damn well!
