Matthews/Fitz for Gore

Postby dlf_ericd » Thu Oct 28, 2010 2:02 pm

12 Team, non PPR, redraft league (not in sig) -

I've been talking with another owner that's desperate for a WR about acquiring Gore. Do you think Ryan Matthews and Larry Fitzgerald is a fair offer? I'm deep at WR (AJ, Jennings, Garcon - only start 2/3) and need another RB.

It might not be enough, in redraft the way Fitzgerald and Mathews are performing this year.

If I'm the Gore owner, I turn that down in a heartbeat. Isn't even be close.

If I'm the Gore owner, I don't accept that either. However, I know he's really needing a WR and I'm not in a position I can overpay. I sent him Matthews/Jennings & he's leaning towards accepting.

That would be a great deal for you. If it were me, I still would not even consider it. RBs are always much more valuable than WRs in fantasy, because there are fewer good ones. For me to trade a guy like Gore away, it would have to be for a slight downgrade at RB (McCoy, Mendy, Turner, etc) and a solid WR (S. Smith, nyg, Garcon, Maclin, Bowe, etc). If he makes this trade, his team is much worse off. Sure, he's better off at WR, but he's worse off at RB. Jennings is not good enough to merit the huge downgrade at RB. Also, considering the state of the SD running game, I don't get how anyone could consider trading for Mathews without getting Tolbert too. And if it takes two trades to pull it off, its probably not worth it. Good luck!
