Re: PvP Poll Kelvin Benjamin 1/15/17
I feel like Benjamin is a high floor guy. He's like a bigger, faster Plaxico Burress. I don't think he'll ever be elite, but assuming he doesn't shoot himself in the leg, I expect a long solid career out of him.

Re: PvP Poll Kelvin Benjamin 1/15/17
Wow, I was a Benjamin skeptic but this seems cheap for him. Given that Newton is coming off his worst passing year of his career, I guess now is the time to buy Benjamin. If Newton bounces back to 75% of 2015 form, Benjamin will be much better than his 2016 numbers.
Re: PvP Poll Kelvin Benjamin 1/15/17
This is easily the most "consensus" response so far with 60% in one bucket.
Re: PvP Poll Kelvin Benjamin 1/15/17
I'll be straight up and say that I voted for the consensus option because that is what I feel he is worth. However as to whether or not I would actually do a late 1st for Benjamin would highly depend on my roster makeup in each of my leagues.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..
Re: PvP Poll Kelvin Benjamin 1/15/17
This is a good point. In future polls I'm going to change the language to this:
"Assuming I have a moderate need at the position, the most I would pay for Kelvin Benjamin (using rookie picks as currency) is....."

Re: PvP Poll Kelvin Benjamin 1/15/17
Isn't that kind of implied? You're not really buying unless you see the player as a needed addition
Re: PvP Poll Kelvin Benjamin 1/15/17
Yeah and it does indicate "the most" - I don't think you need to get overly wordy.

Re: PvP Poll Kelvin Benjamin 1/15/17
Yeah, I thought that was pretty clearly implied. Anyone actually looking at their own roster is not doing this hypothetical question right.
Re: PvP Poll Kelvin Benjamin 1/15/17
I don't see any potential harm in the additional language, even though you're right that it's probably not needed most of the time.

Re: PvP Poll Kelvin Benjamin 1/15/17
He was worse in both 2013 & 2014...Cam is what he is and anyone who thinks 2016 is the aberration to what he can do isn't paying attention. I like Cam, but 2015 was the statistical outlier to his career and only a fool would think he is gonna last long in this league with the beatings he takes.Sterling Archer wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2017 6:40 am Wow, I was a Benjamin skeptic but this seems cheap for him. Re: PvP Poll Kelvin Benjamin 1/15/17
Only from an aggregate yards standpoint. I meant YPA, comp %, and TD:INT ratio. The whole team collapsed in 2016. Blaming it on Newton is silly, as is stating that 2016 wasn't an aberration - his completion % was drastically lower than every other year of his career. I'm not saying we should expect a repeat of 2015, but if the team finally invests in OL then I think Newton will be fine and his WR1 will benefit. I don't like slow WRs who have a lot of drops (and entered the NFL relatively old), but Kelvin is on Carolina for at least 2 more years and Newton is only 27 (turns 28 before the 2017 season). They have a good rapport. Right now is probably the lowest Kelvin's value will be for the next 2-4 years. After seeing this poll I've decided to try to buy low where I can.flyersfan1981 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2017 5:33 pmHe was worse in both 2013 & 2014...Cam is what he is and anyone who thinks 2016 is the aberration to what he can do isn't paying attention.
