Is Hunter Henry a TE1 even with Gates healthy?
I picked him up a couple of weeks ago when Gates got hurt but assumed when Gates is healthy he would ride pine for my team...which he has, and it has almost cost me both weeks for not playing him. Since Gates has been back their stat lines are 11 targets, 7 catches, 135 yards and 2TDs for Henry versus Gates seeing 11 targets, 6 catches, 46 yards and 1TD. The targets are the same, the catches are close, but the yards have a huge gap. Curious if anyone has snap count info on the two?
So is Henry in the TE1 conversation on a weekly basis due to upside?

I don't think you should equate Gates playing with Gates being healthy.
That said, it's fair to wonder how healthy Gates is gonna get going forward.

With Keenan out the rest of the year, I don't see why not. HH is clearly going to be a good NFL player, he may have some duds this year, but the same can be said for any TE.

Re: Hunter Henry -- #1 Dynasty TE?
I hope so because I traded for him a month ago for a team that I'm rebuilding.

#2 is tied to the QB wouldn't you say? What happens with Rivers is traded/retires? I could see a scenario where Kelce would pass Henry. I don't think the position is that black and white. Good breakdown though!

Re: Hunter Henry -- #1 Dynasty TE?
I wouldn't take Henry in a startup over Gronk, Eifert, or Kelce. So, no. Reed would be close because of the concussion history.
Don't lose track of how slowly TE's traditionally develop. Henry has 7 touchdowns on the year, but still only at 32/435.

Re: Hunter Henry -- #1 Dynasty TE?
Henry wouldn't go over Graham, Gronk, Reed, Eifert, Olsen, Kelce or Ertz for me. I traded for him hoping for the best, but I'd gladly swap him 1 for 1 with any of those guysCameron Giles wrote:I wouldn't take Henry in a startup over Gronk, Eifert, or Kelce. So, no. Re: Hunter Henry -- #1 Dynasty TE?
I agree with Giles and I like waynesworld's point. Given the time it can take a TE to round into form, by the time Henry gets to that point (if he does), Rivers may be long gone.

If I had Hunter Henry as my TE1 right now; I would be very concerned.
If he was my TE2? I would be pretty happy.

Re: Hunter Henry -- #1 Dynasty TE?
To piggy back on Phaded's comments, I have him as my number two, behind Olsen. Grabbed him late second/early third in a rookie draft this year. Seemed like the perfect scenario with Olsen getting long in the tooth and TEs taking time to develop.

Re: Hunter Henry -- #1 Dynasty TE?
'No' for Kelce on upside? OP, that's bizarre nonsense. His upside is Gronk.
And Henry doesn't get a 'yes-ish' for established production when he's had 30-400-7 this year. The TDs are nice, but thats not enough. The career potential is certainly there with Henry, but that's not the point.

Henry looks good but he doesn't have any track record at all of sustained production. I'd need to see him do it constantly for a few years like Gronk, Kelce, Reed and Olsen have before I put him above any of them.

Re: Hunter Henry -- #1 Dynasty TE?
If Gates retires, I think Henry has a solid case for near the top, but would be high risk. I'd still put Kelce, Gronk & Eiffert ahead of him, but depending on whether I'm aiming to contend of rebuild, he would slot somewhere after that.
