Superflex QB Values

Postby jr00027 » Sat Jun 25, 2016 9:02 pm

Hi

I'm pretty new to the superflex format, but have dabbled before.

What is the general consuensus on relative value for a starting QB in trade terms? Is it a first rounder plus?
Guys like- Palmer, Alex Smith, Cutler etc.
Scoring is 4pts for TD, 1 point bonus for 300yards, 2 points 400yards, 3 for 500yards, -1 for INTs, 0.5 PPR.

Appreciate any guidance you can offer. I know it's hard out of context.

I essentially traded Drew Brees away for a 2017 1st and a 2017 2nd.

Players like Luck, Newton, Rodgers, and Wilson can easily be worth 4 or 5 1sts.

QBs get a lot of value in superflex.

A recent trade in my league was:

Russell Wilson, 2017 2nd
for
Ezekiel Elliot, Melvin Gordon, 2017 1st
10 team SF .5ppr-QB,2RB,3WR,TE,Flex,SF,Def (30 spots)
QB: Allen, AR, Brissett
RB: Mixon,Barkley,Rhamondre,Foreman
WR: Deebo,Adams,Jeudy, Devonta,Nuk
TE: Knox,Chig, Woods, Ferguson
2023 picks: 2, 3, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20
2024 picks: 3 2nds
2025 picks: 3 2nds

The league is pretty new, and most people haven't played superflex before.

Three teams have 4+ Qbs and the rest are struggling.
Nobody has executed a trade at this stage, and most people are balking at the thought of paying top dollar for QBs.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?
How long is it taking for values to bump up?

With only -1 deduction for INT, the bonus points for pass yards, and only 0.5 PPR for other positions, if you arent starting a 2nd QB your are at a big disadvantage. You should expect them to be valued accordingly. The standard WR values for other leagues likely would be a good starting gauge.

I think the guys with the bulk of QBs played it correct.

The fact that you stated most haven't played superflex before means it'll probably take until the first few weeks of the season for those owners balking at paying top $ for a QB to see how much of a disadvantage they are at. If I were you I'd try and capitalize on that and set yourself up to be one of the teams with 4 or 5 QBs. If there are any starting QBs on waivers I'd suggest grabbing them. They will not last once other teams have figured it out.

Pretty much this.

Those without the QBs are going to quickly realize they need them or they will continually lose.

In a superflex dynasty the values of young QBs escalates a lot faster than old QBs. Having Carson Palmer instead of a RB/WR might score you a couple more points per game this season but if he retires that might not be worth giving up a first. Alex Smith and Jay Cutler might not be top QBs but they could be around a few seasons so they might actually be worth more than Palmer in the long run. And a very young QB is probably worth a lot even if they aren't great. There's a DLF article from January you might want to check out: http://dynastyleaguefootball.com/2016/0 ... y-2qb-adp/
