Re: Vincent Jackson
It all depends on what team is going to give him the big contract he wants and the compensation San Diego will require to part ways.
Re: Vincent Jackson
If they got a second rounder for Charlie Whitehurst who knows what AJ Smith will try to get for Vjax! NE has the pics to make a sweet comp package if there looking for a replacement for Moss? Maybe another landing spot but they're pretty stingy when it comes to handing out big deals and they've already been pretty frugal with Brady and Logan Mankins.hot nikkels wrote:It all depends on what team is going to give him the big contract he wants and the compensation San Diego will require to part ways.

Re: Vincent Jackson
I think Washington makes the most sense. They are likely to give VJax the contract he's looking for. They also have a WR prospect or two that SD is probably interested in adding to their depleted WR core too. And, with McNabb in town, they want to win now. So, getting him a legitimate top pass catching weapon makes complete sense to me.

I agree Kris, this is about to get very interesting...kris_kapsner wrote:I think Washington makes the most sense. They are likely to give VJax the contract he's looking for. Re: Vincent Jackson
NFL Network's Steve Wyche reports that Vincent Jackson is currently in Phoenix working out on the same practice field as Donovan McNabb.
It's a notable development because the Redskins have been reported by multiple outlets to have interest in V-Jax. The two are just training together, but the newfound connection doesn't make a V-Jax-to-D.C. trade any less likely.

Re: Vincent Jackson
It seems like the writing is on the wall, VJax won't be a Charger anymore. Four teams have been brought up at this point as being interested in him, the Bears, Redskins, Seahawks and Broncos.
If you owned VJax right now, where would you like to see him land?
Personally, from a fantasy perspective I can't help but be intrigued by the idea of Jay Cutler throwing to him in a Martz offense. But, the Broncos just shipped out a WR who had 3 seasons in a row with 100+ receptions. Could VJax do the same thing if he went there? Washington and McNabb desperately need someone to throw to. It's hard to imagine him not doing well there also. Seattle seems like the only obvious down grade in VJax value should he go there. At least in my opinion.
Thoughts?

If he's not in San Diego, I think Washington could be a good long term landing spot for him. Mainly it's the Shanahan factor, as he seemed to do a good job grooming Marshall. Of course VJax's value there would be contingent upon Shanny getting a stud QB to get him the ball.
I also wouldn't mind seeing some sort of VJax/Randy Moss swap, although that's pretty darn unlikely.

As an owner, I would much rather see him in Washington if he does leave SD...

Re: Vincent Jackson
Vincent Jackson has been suspended for three games for violating the league's Personal Conduct Policy.
The suspension stems from Jackson's two DUI convictions as a pro, and it can be appealed. Interestingly, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that even if V-Jax does follow through with his holdout threats, the suspension will start in Week 1 anyway. As Profootballtalk reported yesterday, teams interested in trading for Jackson were already well aware of the looming suspension. It's one of the reasons that a trade remains a long shot. Malcom Floyd and Legedu Naanee will likely be the Chargers' starting wideouts for at least the first three weeks of the season. Rotoworld

Re: Vincent Jackson
I don't think the three game suspension will affect a trade scenario all that much. The reality has always been that VJax was going to get suspended for a couple games. And, teams are still interested in getting him.
I still think it's likely that VJax is in Washington this year.
