Jackson/Johnson Trade?
Jackson/Johnson Trade?
Just wondering what you guys thought about a trade of S. Jackson, M. Sims-Walker, R. Meachem for A. Johnson, and the 2010 1.01 and 2.01 picks? Is this trade fair?
Re: Jackson/Johnson Trade?
i'd take the Andre Johnson, 1.1 (ryan mathews) and the 2.1 without thinking twice about it.

Re: Jackson/Johnson Trade?
Absolutely do this deal! You are getting the best player (AJ), a young stud RB (Matthews) & a solid player at the 2.1. You would be giving up an often-injured aging RB (SJax), an often-injured WR (MSW), & a flex option (Meachem).
This improves your team for this year a little and a ton over the next 5 seasons.

Re: Jackson/Johnson Trade?
I guess I didn't really answer the "is it fair question". I say no it isn't. your trying to get arguably the 2 best players in the deal. your offering up a big name RB stuck in a bad offense who is entering what some think may be the downside of his career. I don't put much value in MSW (injured ever yr) or meachem (has talent but where is he in the pecking order of N.O. weapons). Being an A.J. owner I would decline the deal even if you only wanted johnson and not the picks.
Re: Jackson/Johnson Trade?
wow I read wrong!!! if you're getting AJ & 1.1 /1.2 take it!
Re: Jackson/Johnson Trade?
wait, is this proposed to you or did you propose it to the AJ owner. if its yours to accept then accept it. wow 3 posts and I finally got it right!
Re: Jackson/Johnson Trade?
Thanks for the responses. I figured I was gearing the trade for myself. I do want to offer the other owner decent value but I was probably overvaluing msw and meach
Re: Jackson/Johnson Trade?
I kinda figured you were trying to come up with an idea to get AJ and 1.1
you're better off holding onto MSW until he can prove he can play a whole season. His stock will be much higher IF he can do that. I like the idea of moving Sjax though. See if u can move him for the 1.1 & 2.1???? I'd rather have mathews upside and a good rookie wr (2.1) than Sjax.

Re: Jackson/Johnson Trade?
Yeah. Probably smart. Mathews or Bryant for my team?
Re: Jackson/Johnson Trade?
The trade is definitely slanted to the AJ side here.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

Re: Jackson/Johnson Trade?
if you make a trade for the 1.1 I'd probably take Dez considering your team and starting requirements. J- Stew & charles could take over S Jax. I'm not a Bowe fan and I've already given you my opinions on meachem & MSW. since mathews is the first rookie taken in most rookie drafts you might even be able to move down to 1.2 and pick up the 2.2.
of course you've gotta get the 1.1 first! But if played right, the 1.2, 2.1 & 2.2 could be a nice haul. Good luck!

Re: Jackson/Johnson Trade?
I think you'd have to offer Sidney Rice or deSean Jackson in place of MSW for the other owner to take it seriously. I think I would offer SJax and DeSean Jackson for Andre Johnson, 1.01 (Mathews) and 2.01 - you are still getting the best player, and won't miss the Jacksons after this or next offseason, while Andre and Mathews solidify your lineup for seasons to come. You have a deep enough roster to pull this off.

I like this offer, and like he said, the other owner will probably take you more seriously. It's your call as to which one you offer first though...meineymoe wrote:I think you'd have to offer Sidney Rice or deSean Jackson in place of MSW for the other owner to take it seriously.
