So I was really high on cooks when he was drafted. When his rookie season got caught short he was on pace for 85/1000/6.
He is by no means a WR1 in my eyes but I would put him up against almost any other WR2 in the league. He is a ppr monster, in the screen game, reverses and all.
What is his value in rookie picks? Is 1.3 and 1.8 worth it? I feel that's kind of low.

Re: Cooks Value?
i think 1.03 and 1.08 for cooks is close. I would rather have Cooks. We've seen him perform at a high WR2 level at a super young age.
He is 9 MONTHS younger than Josh Doctson!!!!!

To play devil's advocate for a second...
I agree that Cooks is young and exciting but I also don't see him ever becoming a true fantasy WR1. Depending on landing spot tomorrow night, Treadwell and Doctson both have the potential to turn into that top WR. Would you rather have the sure WR2 in Cooks or take the chance on a potential WR1?

In a ppr league I'll take the floor of 85/1000/6 and 100 plus in rushing at 22 with two seasons under his belt.bigbuck22 wrote:To play devil's advocate for a second...

Currently I have him as my WR3 and that's strong. Yes I think doctson and treadwell can over come him, I think they both could have 10 plus tds. But they also could not be.
Let me ask you this. K. White and 1.3 vs Cooks? I think the white side wins. Ok, hypothetically speaking. 1.3, 1.4 for cooks? Doctson and coleman? That's pretty close and I wrong?

I'd say it's probably up to the individual owner and his team makeup. Having Cooks as your 3 is very favorable. In a rebuild, I think I'd rather have the rookies. Landing spot would play a role in my final decision though.Dynastychamp111 wrote:In a ppr league I'll take the floor of 85/1000/6 and 100 plus in rushing at 22 with two seasons under his belt.bigbuck22 wrote:To play devil's advocate for a second...

Re: Cooks Value?
I agree it's team makeup. If you are highly competitive, take cooks for his immediate and safe production. If I am rebuilding, I like the upside of Doctson or Treadwell more. Cooks was very solid (11 or 12 in ppr?) but that is in an incredibly high volume passing attack. It's unlikely to last more than a couple years with Brees aging in that throwing arm. Without the super big pie to eat from, is cooks really more attractive than Doctson and another decent rookie prospect two years out from now? Tough choice in a rebuild.
Re: Cooks Value?
Also, Cooks is currently your 3, yes, but I wouldn't expect Marshall to ever produce again like he did this past year. He could very well fall flat sooner than later esp without that QB situation figured out yet. I think Nelson will bounce back with nice numbers again but he's also likely going to start a downhill slide, albeit more gradual. What I'm saying is that it may not be long before you no longer have the luxury of Cooks as your WR3. He could be your 1 in just a few short years and back to your 2 next year already.

Very good point which is why I am trying to repeat with winning the championship but also keep an eye on the future. I don't think 1.3 and 1.4 are enough to pull cooks from me. But what about K. Many on these boards are very high on White. I am not one of them, at least to the same level. He's crazy explosive but coming out last year, he needed lots of development as an NFL WR. I'm not sure he was able to take that development anywhere last year... perhaps mentally, IDK. I think he's as much a roll of the dice as any of the top WR in this draft. He'll also likely have Alshon in front of him which doesn't mean he can't get his but does likely mean he'll be the WR2 for Chicago for a handful of years to come. That could cap his overall upside. He's similar to Coleman in my eyes, only bigger. I do think the two for one option is favorable for you long term, but probably not quite as much for this year. You would need to decide if you favor Cooks, White/1.3, or 1.3/1.4. My guess is that the boards will suggest White/1.3. Perhaps waiting to see what happens tonight with these WRs will give you a better idea of the direction you should take.
