Laviska Shenault

Postby cdron81 » Thu Jan 20, 2022 5:58 am

Hey guys,

What are your opinions on Shenault? I was very disappointed with his numbers after Chark got hurt...was expecting much more. Even with a rookie QB and a very bad team all around...

Has he plateaued yet? What can we expect from him the next couple of years?

Thanks!
Ron

Well, it’s hard to imagine that it gets any worse. If Lawrence takes a step forward, and they bring in a X receiver to take pressure, he could bounce back. It’s very unlikely he is ever a top tier guy at this point. I would be very happy if he ended up in the WR3 range at this point. It hurts though. I was a Shenault truther coming into this past year.

Welcome to the community!

He has been disappointing so far but has a decent skill set with the right coach or system. I would not expect much from him moving forward and if he hits, it will be a pleasant surprise. I expect everyone to be better on Jacksonville to an extent this year with Meyer gone. The WR depth chart is pretty favorable to still have someone make a jump.

Man I was super high on him coming in to this year, and when Chark when down I was thrilled. Contrast that with the fact that by the end of the year I had to drop him....he got outproduced by literally EVERYONE, even Laquon Treadwell for F sake. It's one thing to have a down year on a team having an abysmal year, it's another to get outplayed when you have the opportunity.

Hard pass.

I too was a huge fan of his. He was supposed to be what Deebo is. I am giving him one more year, but I do not have high hopes.

I am all out on him. It is potential someone comes in and he ascends but just seems like the team did all it could to find anyone besides him to get production in the passing game. I actually think Agnew has an equal chance to Shenault to be relevant past Jones and Chark.

Would you pay a mid 2 for him?

I would not but I value picks higher than most

I'd rather have a Wandale Robinson or trade that pick for a more secure win now player

Maybe? Last offseason, right before the hype train started I paid a pick that turned into the 2.04 and Robby Anderson for him. Not the worst trade I ever made since Robby busted too and is getting older, but I’d still rather have the 2.04. Oh well…

I think it's more like they're paying you to take him at that price

1.02 > 1.08, 1.12, 4.12

If anything Shenault should be on that side, all for the 1.02 don't you guys think?

He's in Terrace Marshall territory for me. In other words, really low.

If Kyle Shanahan had him I think he'd be great. But on a bad team with no direction I think he's gonna fizzle out. Another gadget type, inconsistent and low producing WR.

Probably would give an early 3rd for him if nothing was available in the draft. More interested in Chark as a prototypical alpha profile WR (if he returns to JAX)
