Higgins is Cincy's WR2, but he's a low-end WR3 (actually, not even that good right now as he is WR40 at fantasypros.com) in fantasy. Etienne is injured and has an unproven future in real life and fantasy. Even so, I prefer Etienne.

I don't see Higgins' ceiling as much more than low-end WR2. That WR3-lowendWR2 range is littered with about 25 average-good WRs who have a chance to reach WR30-36 status. On the other hand, if Etienne returns healthy the odds are he'll get at least a 50/50 split in 2022 and can move to the clear RB1 role for JAX.

It's hard for me to look across all NFL starting RBs and find a situation where I'd prefer a fantasy WR3 over a starting RB for an NFL team. Positional scarcity dictates a starting RB is worth more than a fantasy WR3.

The only situation where I'd recommend keeping a WR3 over a potential starting RB like Etienne is if the fantasy manager thinks the WR is going to improve to T18WR status. I don't predict that for Higgins, so I easily prefer Etienne. If you predict that for Higgins, it becomes a more difficult decision.

Higgins for me too. Why is having Chase opposite him hurt. Does Cincy only throw the ball 10 times a game? Why doesn't Robinson hurt ETN's value, especially with the coach that drafted him gone. Who says ETN is any good to begin with. People way undervalue WR2's.....until somebody comes a knocking wanting to trade for one.

This post was made all the way back in november when there was still a question who was more valuable. Why are people answering it like it was just asked now? Its definitely Higgins now but back in the beginning of November this was a totally relevant question.

Higgins without doubt here.

Personally do not think Etienne translates well to the NFL coupled with Jacksonville being a disaster.
