Fields or Lance

Postby vixen » Mon Jun 07, 2021 11:23 am

I have a feeling I will get to choose between these QBs.. I didn't think I was going to have a shot at one of those QBs this season, but I traded Russ Wilson for a pick to land one of these guys.
so who do you like more and why?
QBs score 4pt TDs and 1/20yds -2 for an int and -1 for a sack

thanks for the help.. I appreciate it

I think this is pure preference. Both project similarly based on style of play and skill set. Fields seems a bit safer based on where he played and what he showed. Both have big upside and risk. I think Fields gets a shot immediately while Lance may have to wait a bit, but all that is yet to be seen. Pick your favorite of the two.

I agree with everything above. I think Fields will sit out at least the first few games, but I think he will start early in the season. I would not even hazard a guess as to when Lance will start (could be right away or next season but more likely somewhere in between that). I am always torn in this debate because I think Fields seems like the better player, but his landing spot is not good. Lance has a premium landing spot, but is more of an unknown. If someone made me pick, I would probably roll the dice on Lance, but it wouldn’t be difficult to change my mind. Interesting side note, in all the drafts I have been in, Fields always goes before Lance.

I had both of them fairly close, so for me it's just landing spot, I trust 49ers and their already stacked team long term more than the Bears.

I'll be following this thread. My draft with this choice won't be until mid-August, so I have all Summer to agonize.
Good luck!

I had to make this same decision and I went with Lance .I trust that Shanahan offense and they threw alot of draft capital at him. Plus his rushing ability gives him a top 5 QB ceiling

I've taken Fields, and actually traded the chance to grab lance in favor of Chase.

You can talk Shanahan all you want, but the guy is raw and I still think Jimmy G has a shot to prove it. Injury has always been the issue there.

I am just a firm believer that with QB's landing spot is not important to me. If a QB is a star, he will be a star anywhere and lift those around him. Fields has an alpha #1WR and a RB coming off a great year, not sure why Chicago is deemed such an awful landing spot. I think Lance probably has a hgher ceiling, but there hasn't been a QB come into the league since I can remember that is as raw as him and has such a low floor. If I am forced to choose between the two, Fields is my answer
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts
