Taylor or McCaffrey?

Postby BradyT » Thu May 13, 2021 2:37 pm

Who do you prefer in dynasty? Jonathan Taylor or Christian McCaffrey?

And what would you need to downgrade from your preferred choice to the other one in terms of draft picks?

CMC by a mile.

Would need a high 1st to move to JT. I feel like people forget how dominant the guy is barring health. I personally believe he returns to RB1 overall status this year.

Equal cost? CMC. But given the CMC owners still want an early 1st on top (which matches with the above) I'd take JT at his lower price.

I'm pretty worried about CMCs workload the last few years. I'd take Taylor.

I’m worried about workload too, but Taylor’s. Specifically, I’m worried about Taylor’s target share with Rivers gone. If he’s a 30-catch 40-target guy he’s less appealing to me than CMC in PPR formats.

CMC for now. Don’t need as much on top as others. High 2021 2nd would do it for me, so essentially one of Bateman/Moore/Moore/Waddle + JT for CMC

Both are young and only about 2.5 years apart in age. Not close at this point. CMC is worth at least a 1st on top of a RB with only 3 career 100 plus yard regular season rushing games at this point.

This must be a joke thread. One would have to be a pretty big gambler to make an even trade at this point.

I’m a CMC owner in two leagues and I’d make the straight swap. Of course I’d try to squeeze out a bit more if the JT owner came to me, but they aren’t exactly beating down my door.

Looking at dynasty rankings, DLF's too, this is certainly not meant as a joke.

If you are looking long term or a couple seasons out, Taylor easily based on age and still huge upside. If you are contending now, CMC.

Both are super expensive and Taylor probably slightly more based again on age.

If you are set up to win it all this year, CMC. If you are still putting all the pieces together and need a year or two, Taylor.

My roster(notables players):

QB: Mahomes
RB: CMC, Akers, J.Jacobs,JavonteW
WR: AJ Brown, Ridley, J.Chase, Julio, Tee Higgins, Darius Slayton, Preston Williams
TE: Tonyen

+ strong IDP squad

Lineup:

1QB
2RB
3WR
1TE
1Flex

My fear is another possible CMC injurie, which imo would absolutely "kill" his value.
