It’s got to be an upgrade from the Jets in terms of surrounding offensive talent, right? At least at the skill positions. Probably best case scenario for him given he was always going to a bad team at 1.01.

Re: Joe Burrow or Trevor Lawrence
Love Burrow, but it's always been Lawrence and still is. Kinda bummed my SF leagues where I owned Burrow and 1.01 both folded, but at least I have Lawrence/Fields in my SF Devy league.

Re: Joe Burrow or Trevor Lawrence
I was already in the Lawrence > Burrow camp, but Lawrence as a Jag tilts this even more in his favor over Burrow for me.

For sure. I was hesitant on taking over Burrow for the NYJ situation. However, that CIN situation looks like crap too. Burrow took an absolute beating this year.
It's Lawrence by a bit for me now

Lawrence was a superior rushing threat even before any concerns because of Burrow's knee injury.cantguardjake wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 1:41 pm Pre knee - Burrow

Their rushing yardage over their final 2 years of college are almost identical (not sure how sacks play into this at the college level though), and Burrow doesn’t run like a baby giraffe.bjd5211 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 1:43 pmLawrence was a superior rushing threat even before any concerns because of Burrow's knee injury.cantguardjake wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 1:41 pm Pre knee - Burrow

This. Burrow is a bit slower. He isnt breaking any big ones to say the least. He also had about as many rushes as he did Sacks. Those were the hits I was more worried aboutbjd5211 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 1:43 pmLawrence was a superior rushing threat even before any concerns because of Burrow's knee injury.cantguardjake wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 1:41 pm Pre knee - Burrow

Do many quarterbacks not named Lamar break big ones in the NFL though (Danny Dimes maybe ).Jigga94 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 2:11 pmThis. Burrow is a bit slower. I wouldn’t put too much stock in a college QBs rushing ability unless it is actually a primary part of their college game (ie Lamar and Kyler). It’s a bonus when they have the ability to pick up an extra 2-3 points a game (hence my comment re: Burrow), but that’s all Lawrence will be at the next level in terms of rushing, and I like Burrow more as a QB.
Josh Allen only averaged 26 yards rushing a game and he’s built like Hercules compared to Lawrence.
Re: Joe Burrow or Trevor Lawrence
I have Allen over both and agree that passing is where most of QB value should come from (exceptions being Lamar, Kyler... Danny Dimes )cantguardjake wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 2:51 pmDo many quarterbacks not named Lamar break big ones in the NFL though (Danny Dimes maybe ).

You had just originally stated that your decision hinged on whether or not Burrow will be running the ball. That's a bit strange if you don't value it highly in these 2 QB anyway. Which I do not think people should, but Lawrence seems quicker/more athletic.
Regardless, I'd expect more plays from Lawrence on the ground and think he ends up the better QB overall

My comment was more meaning Burrow without the ability to add a bonus 2-3 points a game through rushing (ie post ACL) makes it a tougher decision for me with Lawrence.Jigga94 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 4:00 pmI have Allen over both and agree that passing is where most of QB value should come from (exceptions being Lamar, Kyler... Pre ACL I see their NFL rushing upside to be fairly similar so lean Burrow as I like him as the better QB, I don’t think I clarified that very well

Not doubting Lawrence’s talent or potential, but I really like what I’ve seen thus far with Burrow.

Still taking Lawrence. Not sure what Burrow does better than Lawrence, but it's probably very little.
Lawrence is a boring prospect to talk about because we've known he's supposed to be great since high school. #1 HS QB. #1 HS overall prospect. Won a national title as a freshman. Effortlessly made ACC defenses look dumb for 3 years.
He's an Andrew Luck-level prospect.
Not sure why the Jaguars are going with Urban Meyer though when better NFL options are available.

Definitely not an Andrew Luck level prospect but maybe I’m in the minority.Cameron Giles wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 5:47 pm Still taking Lawrence. Not sure what Burrow does better than Lawrence, but it's probably very little.

I have Burrow. I also have the 1.2 pick. (1QB league). Also have 1.6. Considering seeing what I can get for Burrow and drafting Lawrence. What do you think I could get for Burrow?
