It's mostly losing football games that has people saying he isn't good. He has 1 winning season in 6 years in the league, with a 39-55 record as a starter. A lot of blame lands on the OAK organization and the lack of overall talent on those teams, but losing typically falls on the shoulders of the QB, however unfair that may be. Agree that he is unfairly judged.Dynasty DeLorean wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 3:48 pmBut you don't understand. A lot of people say he isn't any good, therefor he's not good. Case closed.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 11:14 amI don't know why that's crazy. He's objectively better. Carr was a good QB last year, without outside help. 2nd in completion percentage, 9th in rating, 8th in yards. Best in 3rd and long completion percentage, 3rd best rating against pressure, first against the blitz. I'd rather have him throwing passes my WR's this year than Minshew.

Agreed. It is non-ppr though, and everyone covets RB's in this format. Probably explains some of the fall.Avery wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 6:26 pmThat seems low for both of them.Shoreline Steamers wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 6:13 pmIt's the breakout age for his mustache that really impressed me.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 3:56 pm Minshew's mustache rating is definitely higher. Edwards
I got 3rd hand his workout numbers were very impressive while training for the combine:
10'7" broad
39" vert
4.45-4.50 40
18 bench reps
Lets not forget this either:
94th percentile dominator
100th percentile breakout age
Also check his highlight reel, he makes ridiculous catches that rival OBJ. His body control is exceptional, he is a load to bring down in the open field, runs good routes and he is drawing rave reviews from coaches, players and beat writers. His comps have been MT, Adams, Boldin, Mike Williams. Those are all very good comps from ceiling to floor. This guy is going to be a stud, and if you pass on him he may never be cheaper than right now. I have given up 2021 1sts in several packages for Edwards + (before the hype).
He is taller, bigger hands, better college dominator, better breakout age and doesnt have as long of an injury history that Shenault has.

Yeah I think that was from a podcast right? Even if he wouldn't have quite hit those numbers, a 36" vert, 4.55 40 would have been excellent for his size anyway. Too bad we'll never know for sure!
Re: Convince me
Wasnt from a podcast. And no I will not source those numbers. I like to keep some things close to the vest.

Re: Convince me
Not sure why people question Edward's athletic ability.. he's not a speed demon, but he's plenty fast. He hit 19.41 mph in game last season, which was faster than Justin Jefferson's (18.41), Chase Claypool (18.77) and was right up there with Donovan Peoples-Jones (19.49) and Tee Higgins (19.46) ?!FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 10:40 pmSo in other words, you're full of sh@t..... Re: Convince me
I'd be dancing a jig if I were you. Unless it's IDP/Superflex, both of those guys were always gone by pick 20 in my leagues (which is why I was always trying to make sure my 2nd, no matter what, was 19th. Even in SF they tended to be gone by the back end of round 2 in 12 team leagues.Charles in Charge wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 7:26 amYeah, I am at that point of flipping a coin. I am otc at pick 25 (already picked up Dobbins, Pittman, and Dillon), and I am sitting here with these 2 as the best remaining players. I am leaning Shenault barely, but wanted some last minute opinions.Bronco Billy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2020 7:09 am Flip a coin. Both have huge potential and also significant risk that includes past injuries. I like both guys and hope they stay healthy enough to have strong careers, but I bypassed both in drafts because I just didn’t have a strong enough stomach to pull the trigger where I would have had to in order to roster them. In my league it was Moss over Chenault and KC LB May over Edwards.
I have Shenault ahead of Edwards because of my perception of a higher ceiling (former top 3-5 overall grade), whereas I see Edwards as the high floor guy. I actually like Shenault's situation at QB more because I like Minshew more than Carr, and I see the Jags as Chark and then a bunch of dreck, whereas the Raiders have a gigantic pile of pass catchers in RB, WR, and TE form.
Regardless, I'd take both before any of those 2nd round RB's who I think are sketchy at best (weird landing spots and low ceilings, I tend to view Dillon/Moss as replacement level guys who are at best stand in's until a FA, or rookie option presents itself that's more attractive, in those scenarios I'd rather invest in the high draft capital WR over the RB that I think is a never was, or soon to be replaced guy very quickly).
