They may yet replace him with someone good; they've had a very good track record with identifying talent for whatever it's worth. John Daigle is a national treasure, and Denis Carter and Hayden Winks are both excellent analysts too.

It's just sad to lose Norris, who has literally been the voice (he's the host) of their podcast for 6 years now - during which time they've taken out the "best fantasy podcast" award from the FSGA. They've literally been that good as a podcast team - a cut above everyone else. As you say - sad.

The biggest surprise here to me is the amount of passing game work Montgomery received. He's a decent back. As long as he gets the work, he should produce. Solid RB2 moving forward. Still believe in Jacobs talent, a little concerned for sure though. Would not trade him for Monty. Have him a few spots higher in hopes he gets more passing work or the Line gets a bit better

Not really considering Cohen tore his ACL, and they didn't really have anyone else to pick up his slack.

I’m not saying DUIs are anything to sneeze at but considering the transgressions a lot of NFL players have been a part of let’s cool the jets on using this as a slam on Jacobs. I’m a bit Montgomery fan, and like Jacobs too.

Character flag nonetheless. A transgression is still a transgression. Pointing to worse crimes that others have committed doesn't negate the fact that he now has a DUI on his record. It hurts his stock, even if slightly (some front office maniacs may have gotten away with countless DUI and view the guy as an unlucky one, I suppose).

DUI related dings in value aside, this post was my only off-season bold take and it's nice to see my research and rationale behind the take coming to life. Monty just flat out looks more exciting on the field and on the stat sheet.

He does not have a DUI on his record. He has been accused of drinking and driving but convicting him in advance is a bit much.

I love Monty, was thrilled to have him fall to me in a few drafts last year, was praying he didn't go to the Rams because (at the time) I thought someone like him (who was a legit 3 down back) going there would ruin Gurleys production from day 1. I liked Jacobs more (only slightly) but was unwilling to make the move from 3 to 1 because of the price tag. Across 19 dynasty leagues I have Jacobs in 4 and Montgomery in 3. All that said, I have never seen a schedule more conducive to RB production than Montgomery had the last 6 games of the year. He played GB (28), DET (31), HOU (32), MIN (27), JAC (30), GB (28)...the numbers in parenthesis are their rankings in points given up to RBs this season. I'm not saying Montgomery isn't talented (it is why I waxed poetic over him at the start) but simply pointing out how soft his schedule was and that should be taken into some consideration.

Whether right or wrong, it still affects his value.

Not really today.

Now if it turns out he has a major drinking problem then that will hurt his value.

Any of us can go to dinner and have two martinis and breathe a positive. Doesn't sound like they really have much evidence that a decent lawyer can't overcome. Selling on this news would be pretty crazy IMO. I know I am not selling my shares so value remains unchanged.

To put in perspective, I am far more concerned with my Viking player shares due to the potential loss of the Coordinator.

I was literally just talking about this with a friend of mine. I'm not gonna panic sell but its a concern.

Looks like they both have a DUI

Checks out.

It's not that hard to not drink and drive, especially when you're rich. Saying a good lawyer would clear him does nothing to the reality that it's a negative ding that will now be associated with him moving forward.

Maybe I'm wrong and the next negative blurb will actually penetrate Jacob's armor. "Well it's the first time he's done something bad where a lawyer wasn't able to explain it away through extra amounts of money".
