Mostert

Postby ThunderTung » Tue Jan 21, 2020 10:55 pm

Time to start talking about this guy i think, spent most of his career as a s/t, finally gets a shot and flashes every time he gets a chance.

After going nuts against GB this last weekend. whats the consensus?

buy? sell?

committee for SF going into 2020 with coleman and mostert? or does one of them have the job locked up?

I would sell while his stock is very high. You never know what might happen in the draft/what the depth chart looks like to start the 2020 season. Being how he is 28 already, if a solid deal came along, I would sell asap.

if you get a good offer, i'd sell but you have to see him for who he is: not an amazing back perhaps, but in shanahan's system, he can be great. shanny's not going anywhere, so he has potential in the 49ers offense. the main things would be shanny's penchant for rbbc, though that's still to be seen, given that mostert did force himself into the lion's share of carries. again, see him for what he is: won't ever be ranked high in dynasty but has 1-2 years of solid production given the burn.

I was just offered AJ Green for him and snap accepted. I was thin at WR anyway and it seemed like a score.

Thoughts?

Like the AJ Green deal. I grabbed Mostert and still like him heading into 2020, but we know who Green is when healthy.

I feel like people are reacting too strong both ways with Mostert. I think Mostert is a value to have on your roster moving forward, but he's never going to be a workhorse who gets all of the carries in his backfield which means he won't give you that week to week consistency. He's going to be a good (but not elite) level player who will work well rounding out a RB rotation.
