This is tricky for me to answer in a vacuum.

If I’m a contender and this guy is gonna be my WR3 or 4, then I definitely want Boyd.

If I’m rebuilding, or I just have crazy WR depth & this guy is gonna be my WR6 or 7, then I’ll take the shot on Sutton developing into a WR1

That makes sense. I think Boyd is more likely to give you WR2 or better production this season and next than Sutton is, whereas Sutton is more likely than Boyd to give you top 6 WR production at some point.

As a Sutton owner I would trade him for Boyd straight up without hesitation. I like Sutton but Boyd has shown he can succeed in the NFL, to an extent, even with terrible QB play.

I may be crazy, but I think Sutton's floor this year will be Boyd's career ceiling.

Who the heck else will be catching passes in Denver this year?

I will call you crazy! I doubt Sutton matches Boyd's 2018 stats. Even if that is Boyd's ceiling, it is well above Sutton's floor

I can certainly see Sutton outperforming Boyd this year, but to call Sutton's floor Boyd's ceiling is a bit of a stretch in my view. Although I'd love for you to be right given that I just did a deal that included a Boyd for Sutton swap.

I would take Sutton due to long term WR1 upside

I agree with both of the above.

I love me some Sutton as well. And what drives me nuts is that there are people are who convinced some 4th round draft pick with only 200 yards on his name will outproduce him this season.
