Is Doug Baldwin droppable

Postby megager » Sat May 18, 2019 10:44 am

Hi..I hate doing it but would appreciate the backing of the community. Baldwin is retired isn't he. The tweet sounded like a retirement but left a glimmer of ambiguity. But I think that's only to ensure he receives his medical benefits isn't it?

So don't hit drop now or wait?

I live here in Seattle so I hear more news (gossip) about Baldwin then most probably do. The latest word from the VMAC (Seahawks Training Facility) is that his locker is cleared out. Supposedly he got together with Richard Sherman and after discussing his plans he is at peace with his retirement.

Nothing is official though since he has to wait for a certain date to hit so he can get a money payout or something with his insurance or both. As far as I have heard his body has broken down to the point that he couldn’t play competitively anymore. Shame since he was a damn good player.

I don't think Seattle cuts him unless he's totally damaged goods. They kept Kam Chancellor and Cliff Avril around for a long time when they had no chance of playing, so this move speaks volumes.

I think everything going on with Baldwin suggests he's done. I think if there's something that catches your eye on waivers he's droppable.

He is retired, albiet unofficially. His body has given out.
Philosophy: a high ceiling is better than a high floor.

Relative dynasty newcomer, but six time league champion in other formats (despite a 10 year hiatus), most proud of the 2018 NFFL (16-team, TD only, 30th anniversary) League Championship.
